D series snow blower...tune up?

Started working on getting the snow blower ready for use. It's a little rusty but nothing through(no holes). Does need a few new parts and any help finding these would be great. For starters I need the 2 auger bearings and the drive belt. The chain and sprockets are good and the drive shafts are good also. Checked gear box for grease and it's full and in good condition. So all in all I believe the blower to be in good condition just need to replace parts mentioned.

John, I rebuilt one a while back that is now the "Vermonster". I don't remember the bearing numbers but if you take your old bearing or just dimensions to Auto Tech, they will get you hooked up!

Dont know , yet! I hope so. This will be my first season with it and YES I am wanting SNOW!!!

I will post some pix once I get it put back together and hooked up to my D.

I'd be curious to see how that thing actually attaches to a D. Make sure you take pics of that when you get it back together.

JackC, the snow isn't very deep in this video but you can see a D scale blower at work. It does as well in deep snow but you can't move forward as quickly.

slufoot733, Thanks for the video. Looks like the 1970s technology D Series single stage snow blower does a good job. It looks like it can handle plenty of volume but it probably does not throw the snow as far as the newer technology, 1990s 42 inch tall shoot single stage or the 44 inch tall shoot two stage.

Does the taller shoot on the blower help blow the snow further? :huhs:
