there is no reason why it shouldn't. That's the big one for the 16.

Check what way the choke works, not sure on the deere but cub is reversed from WH. Not hard to change but easier before putting it on the engine.

Some Deeres are reversed also (Especially the KT17s)

.

Or do what I do, re-label the choke control lever, Up to run down to choke...I have at least three machines now that have that issue
