blake616 4 #1 Posted June 7, 2012 I have a 1993 416-8 that the oil drain pipe is loose from the engine block. It is not leaking yet, but just need to tighten. Obvioulsy, I can't get a pipe wrench on channel locks on the pipe to tighten. I'm thinking I need to unbolt the engine from the frame to get access to the pipe? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to proceed? Thanks...Richard
JackC 616 #2 Posted June 7, 2012 Removing the engine from the tractor appears to be the only way to have access to tighten the pipes.
AMC RULES 36,941 #3 Posted June 8, 2012 Is there room for a longer drain pipe that you can get a wrench on? :WRS:
Kelly 1,028 #4 Posted June 8, 2012 Most engines on WHs you have to unbolt the engine and tilt it to turn the fitting, I have a few I need to do, one of my 520s I turn by hand so it points up and when I change the oil I turn it down, it seeps some but I really need to unbolt the engine and fix it.
