oil drain pipe

Recommended Posts

blake616

I have a 1993 416-8 that the oil drain pipe is loose from the engine block. It is not leaking yet, but just need to tighten. Obvioulsy, I can't get a pipe wrench on channel locks on the pipe to tighten. I'm thinking I need to unbolt the engine from the frame to get access to the pipe?

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to proceed?

Thanks...Richard

Removing the engine from the tractor appears to be the only way to have access to tighten the pipes.

Is there room for a longer drain pipe that you can get a wrench on?

Most engines on WHs you have to unbolt the engine and tilt it to turn the fitting, I have a few I need to do, one of my 520s I turn by hand so it points up and when I change the oil I turn it down, it seeps some but I really need to unbolt the engine and fix it.
