Save Old Iron 1,563 #2 Posted May 8, 2012 If it's a simple bearing and brush redo - easily done for $20 - $30. When you look closer at reconditioning the armature, reconditioning the commutator area and undercutting the mica separators, now yout talking machine shop specialty work. If you need a new armature or field coil replacement, yep - you're in the $120 + labor arena. At that price point, consider ordering a new SG motor for $150.
