Those 16 Horse Thumpers use a little fuel. How many times did you have to stop and fill up?:ychain:

Time for the unveiling of a 1973 16hp Automatic

Got a great sounding stack from Jim Kemp, even revved up it's a tolerable sound without ear protection.  The PO gave me a lot of extras 20180512_112207-1.jpg.2355390818ac9babe125440fe0889cd5.jpg

A complete decal set

Headlight bucket and lens

Standard piston,  head gasket, condenser, points, axle seal

Had the hydraulic lift rebuilt by Wheelhorseman

The tractor manual and parts list.

He wasn't really a Wheel Horse guy so he kinda lost interest in it. The 16hp runs good with no smoke or noises. It's got a new carb and all new filters and oils.  Transmission works good and will spin the tires in both directions.

Some freshing up by some new paint and those decals, it's going to make a real nice worker.

If you leave the headlight bucket out you can build a Ram-Air system! :auto-swerve:

Just when I thought I was down to a workable number of three (should really be two!) Wheel Horses, along comes a really nice '94 314-8 from another RS member. Finally had a chance today with no rain to drive down and pick it up.

The first tractor I have bought in Virginia - that is staying in Virginia!

Well, everyone, I joined this wonderful forum a little over a year ago and became a supporting member last August. Absolutely love the wealth of kindness and information that is available here. I want to thank you all for that. I'm not sure if I've ever been able to post in this particular category before.

Today we went to rescue a 1967 657 for my honey. Yes you read that right. She bought it. HER tractor.

I say rescue because as you'll see in the picture it is the wrong color. Sort of a dark grass green.

Over the next few weeks or months we will change that.

More pics to follow in the next few hours

Congrats to Your Honey on her first Horse—wheel horse of course:wh:!  I can’t wait to see more pics and to hear the story of this one.

What I’ve seen of her work already—she/you are going to do a great job or breathing new life into that beauty!

Had a little traffic delay on I-81 so took advantage of the opportunity to do a mirror shot. This is the 953 that Mike @Mike'sHorseBarn was good enough to sell me. Made it home safe and sound.103_0053.JPG.135020e04aab081f1f05ce1e61d74de1.JPG

That is one of the legendary Cubs of all time!  Looks like an interesting “race” though. Seems more like they were drafting you rather than following!:D

Ok.... not a mirror shot but best I can do. This will be my wife’s 953! Believe it or not, 98% of it is there.👍
