I've known about this 416-8 for awhile now and today I finally decided to make it mine. The tractor has 630 hrs. on it, she runs super strong. Its pretty clean, paint peeling in a few places etc. I've wanted a big block 8 speed for long time now, this one should be able too handle whatever needs to be done around here. It came with a real nice snow blade, new chains, weights and nice mower deck.

Looks like a great score Ken. Rear tires look pretty beefy too. :scratchead: Over sized maybe?

I'm not too sure what yr. it is yet. It is pre Magnum, that much i know.

Craig the rear tires are 23-9.50's. I'm not sure if that is what all of the 416-8's came with but I do like them better than the narrower 8.50's.

What size are those back tires? Great looking tractor!

They look taller than 23 x 9.50.

That one is a keeper. I miss my 416-8 single kohler. What are the plans for this one?

I would say either 85 or 86.

That's what I was thinking Glen, they definitely seem taller for some reason. :scratchead:

From what I have seen the 9.50 tires (that original make) tend to "baloon" in the middle of the tire for some reason which will make them look taller.

Yes I know, I have one and those tires look bigger on his tractor. They give the impression of being taller.

There you go Steve, I bet that's it.
Strange how a simple thing like that could make 'em look so different. :dunno:

I have come to the conclusion that even though I love my Power Kings/Economy's there is no way that I need 3 of them! I will keep the restored Economy. I don't know what my plans are for my 1614 Power King yet. The loader tractor is already gone. I used it for what I needed to do in my yard and she now has a new owner.
The 416 will get touched up where needed and then it is going to be the grass cutter and even possibly the main snow machine.

It sure looks like its in nice shape. It will handle a 48 deck and the 2 stage if you choose to get one.
Good luck with it

This summer I'll be running the 48 inch deck. I'd love a two stage blower but without hydro lift I don't think I want to be lifting one of them bad boys.

My father-in-law has the same tractor, and it is a BEAST! You definitely have a keeper there!

Its not the only Horse in the stable, do have an RJ 58 and will soon have others.....I need to get rid of some of the bigger tractors to make some room.

Ken, I've got a 1985/86 416-8 with the Kohler K341. It was beat to heck by the P.O., but with help
from Brian (Buckrancher) we managed to get the thing running well (1200 hrs). Including a seat
I've got about $500 total into it and though it is an ugly son of a gun, it is my regular mower with
the 48" deck. I'm not sure why, but it turns and handles a whole lot better than my 310-8. Maybe
the bigger front tires??

BTW, my rear tires are 23 x 8.5 x 12. Not sure if original, but my guess is yes. They are definitely
thinner than yours, and yours do look tall and ballooned in the middle.

Jeff

Yes, that one is a keeper indeed. Looks like the one I walked away from last week, only yours looks a bit nicer.
I am taking a day off work tomorrow to go look at another Horse. Ifit is what the owner says it is, then I will be starting a similar thread about 24 hours from now :D
