MaineDad 85 #1 Posted July 4, 2008 Guys, I'm investigating the opportunity to put some larger tires on the 753 so I can cultivate the garden further into the summer. A Wheel Horse "Row Crop" tractor if you will. Any ideas?
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #2 Posted July 4, 2008 If width is not a problem, the 26 X 12 - 12 is the largest diameter tire that I know of. Perhaps a pair of Speedex or Case 16" rear wheels and tires adapted to the WH hubs would be a thought too. B)
Curmudgeon 28 #3 Posted July 4, 2008 I'm not so sure the 26x12x12 tire will fit under every fender, though it might on the 753. I've found the 24x12x12 to be a nice fit. While they cost more, you can also get 24x13x12's as well in turf types. If you want tall, but skinny, more like is found on full size row crop tractors, look into the ATV tires. Nick 13 #4 Posted July 4, 2008 You might have to step up to larger rims to gain much more hight. You could look at truck tires/rims for a cheap setup. There are also tall skinny tires and rims from the old walk behind tractors that might work on the 753. Either way you might have to pull the fenders off. Greenball tires shows a 6-12 that has an OD of 24.6 inches. Thats about as tall as I can find. Not sure who sells them. http://www.greenball.com/tires/agriculturallug.htm Here are some pictures from Farmerik and the "End Times Report". http://www.seedforsecurity.com/picture20.p...ment&imageid=44 http://www.endtimesreport.com/Tractor-III.html
