Well fellas, been very busy lately. Last night I did get most of everything in the box(pics later this evening).

Front wheels have still not shown up....could get close on those.

Friday night I seal the crate and head for Nashville.

Lost the transmission in my 325,000 mile 2001 Silverado Last week, plain and simple fact of life...sooner or later we all go. I will miss old Goldie all ready, she was a fine truck and served me well. The trip will be Voyage "første tur" on my new-to-me 2007.

Pics this evening.

Suburban+In+A+Box+3.JPG

First Thing I strapped trans into crate with strap iron, or "plumbers tape". In front of it one rear wheel. these are not stock as Lars bought wider tires.

Suburban+In+A+Box++2.JPG

Next I mounted the engine and hood stand to the frame and zip tied the hood in place backwards. All that got strapped over trans and wheel. Other rear wheel, rear fenders and seat fit nicely , I filled the rear wheel with small items.

Suburban+In+A+Box.JPG

Front tires in behind, Deestone Tri-Ribs and Deestone rears in front. the rest just fit in where it would...

Front wheels have arrived as well as seat cushion which will go in this week. A few more Hardware store Items and it is ready to go to Nashville!

One problem Lars will Have to deal with is with the Hood stand in the stock Location it interferes with the K91.

Anyone have any ideas or pics on a remedy.

I'd think if he's going to run the Kohler, just cut the 551 hood stand/battery box part out and fab in a 401 style hoodstand.

Nice job packing that crate. "Suburban kit" who'd a thunk it?

What size are the rear tires you're using Lars? :scratchead: Definitely not 6-12's.

Ta DA...all packed up, some "extra" stuff has made it into the box??

GEDC0037.JPG

Notice the time stamp..and the fact that the box is NOT in the truck....

GEDC0038.JPG

Now it is! But it is ll but empty??

GEDC0039.JPG

One hour later...all packed UP!

AN Hour after that, crate was completed and sealed up...ready to go to Nashville!

Note: Building a crate in the back of a 4X4...really sucks!
