What's your favorite.......Holiday drink???

Recommended Posts

Shuboxlover

Weather it be a nice cold beer or something more exotic....what's your favorite drink to have/make around the holiday's.

Although I make my favorite throughout the year, I find myself making it WAAAAY more around the holidays. Probably because it's football season and Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years.

Here's mine...

Vodka Slush...

3 1/2 cups (or a bit more :wh: ) of your favorite Vodka

1 Can frozen lemonade

2 Cans frozen orange juice

1 1/2 Qts. Ginger Ale

1 (46 oz.) can of Pineapple Juice

1 (46 oz.) can of Grapefruit Juice

Mix them all together and throw it in the freezer....make sure you come back in every once in a while (6-8 hours) to stir it so it stays mixed well.

Once it's completely frozen (usually about 2 days) scoop it out so the glass is about 3/4 full then add some 7Up or Squirt (Squirt is my personal favorite)

Give it a try, everyone likes it.....IT'S FANTASTIC!!!!!!! :dunno:

Wow I sound like I drink too much :wh: I don't though, maybe once a month and a little more on the holidays and thats it! But I do enjoy it when I do have a drink, And I never drive if I'm going to have a few. :dunno:

One of my favorites during the holidays is a Tom & Jerry. Warmed up eggnog, with a shot of Brandy and a sprinkle of nutmeg on the top...warms the soul on a cold winter's night.

I am planning on trying this recipe this Christmas. I got this from Suburban 550 (Ray). It is called Boilo and comes from the Coal Region in Pennsylvania. It is a traditional Yuletide drink. Made in a crock pot...it has oranges, lemons, raisins, honey, whiskey and any or all of these spices...cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, caraway seed, anise seed. If anyone is interested in this recipe, I can type it out here. This could become a favorite.

I made the Boilo recipe yesterday. I made a triple batch. It is very good, kind of like a Hot Tottie. It is at it's best when it is hot...the microwave works great for that. I put about 2 to 3 fingers of the mixture in a cup, heated it for 1 minute and then topped off with the whiskey. It is a feel better cocktail. :banana-linedance:

Did anyone else try this?

Shuboxlover, sounds good. We have a recipe for a similar concoction call "Bourbon Slush". I don't have it at my fingertips, but it shares some ingredients and is really good, especially on a hot summer's day!

Thanks for sharing,

CB
