Heavy duty 2" hitch

Recommended Posts

I have been wanting to do this for about a year, I made 3 of them and I am very happy with them. They can take alot of weight and are out of the way when not needed. And :dunno:

And some paint on it

And mounted on the 417A

And my weight box in place

They turned out great and are out of the way for attaching the the dozer blade and I can still use the original draw bar.

Ok I have several pm's of some of you wanting one of these hitches and want me to make some more to sell. I have given it some thought and have broke down the cost of making one. Here it is.

6" long 2" receiver with crimped end $16.00

cost of extra steel for one hitch $14.00

welding wire, gas, disposables, paint $10.00

About 2 hours of time to make one

hitch at my normal charge of $30 per hour $60.00

That comes to $100.00 per hitch. I need to know how many are willing to pay this amount + shipping for one of these hitches before I start making them? My time for this stuff is limited as I raise a 9 year old little girl my self and would take about 2 weeks to turn out 5 of these. So it will depend on you guys on what you want. I know its more then the one on ebay that another RS member makes, but like I said my time is valuable to me and I can't do this any cheeper. I would be building these at n1defan's place and he needs his cut for the power bill, witch would come out of labor. You also need to have your own plow mount or tiller mount for this hitch to mount to the axle. and I don't know if a tiller will fit if this hitch is in place as I don't have one to try. So let me know.

WheelHorseSteve,

What wheel weight are those? They look like the Cub cadets, but not exactly.

Thanks,

Jesse James
