MaineDad 85 #6 Posted October 13, 2011 What a cool tractor! Beastly too. believe it or not, you can still get a better plow job if you can get that plow share to ride flatter - Does fine as is though...
Tgblanken 27 #7 Posted October 13, 2011 What would you suggest I change to level the plow? Maybe lower the left lift arm? The steiner weighs in about 950lbs. I have a weight box up front and it weighs about 350lbs. Traction is no problem until I start hitting roots and bricks with the plow. The plow share is longer than stock and cuts about 13.5 inches wide. I get about 9" deep with the plow. I have Nick to thank for showing me his Steiner and what they can do. Since then it took me a few years to find one. Can you believe I turned down buying 5 Wheel Horses at one time for a Steiner with no engine!!! The rest is history. Its funny you guys call it a Beast or Beastly, thats what my neighbor named it ("The Beast") after I pulled his Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 out the yard one day. He had someone else try to pull him out with a 3/4 ton chevy 4x4 and got it stuck. When I arrived home they got the 3/4 ton pulled out. I hooked up to his rear hitch and pulled him sideways up the hill a few feet to keep the truck from the wood pile. They I hitched up and pulled him straight out. I attached a few pictures of the truck and mud. This all started when he tried to pull his lawn tractor out of the mud by his wood pile with his truck. http://i553.photobucket.com/albums/jj383/t...icture186-1.jpg http://i553.photobucket.com/albums/jj383/t...icture190-1.jpg http://i553.photobucket.com/albums/jj383/t.../Picture188.jpg http://i553.photobucket.com/albums/jj383/t.../Picture189.jpg
