854 starter/generator/switch question . . . .

Couple things . . is the ignition switch supposed to be spring loaded like an automobile switch? So when you release the key, the starter isn't engaged anymore? Mine seems to be sticking and keeping the starter engaged. Also, the alternator gauge . . which side of the gauge does the wire coming from the voltage regulator go ?? One more thing . . bolted to the front of the engine under the carb . . . is the fuel related piece a fuel pump ?
