oldtin 0 #1 Posted September 4, 2011 Does anyone know if you can swap cranks from a 301as [12hp] into a 14hp? Thanks for your help. :thumbs2:
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #2 Posted September 4, 2011 The answer is no. The reason? : even though they are dimensionally the same, they are balanced differently.

smoreau 658 #4 Posted September 17, 2011 in a short answer NO the balance weights on the crank are to offset the piston and rod. the weight of a rod and piston between a 10 and 12 hp kohler are different, so the balance weights on the crank would be different. Don1977 604 #5 Posted September 17, 2011 Can a 10hp crank be used in a 12hp block? The stroke is different. The K241 has a 2 7/8" stroke and the K301 has a 3 1/4" stroke. If the block is the same height the pistons are different.
