Hello everyone!

I have been browsing the last few days and finally joined!

I am acquiring my first ever riding lawn mower I helped my dad get running when he bought the farm. He is now prepping the farm to sell and the old Wheel Horse hasn't been used in a few years since he got a brand new Cub Cadet. :D

So I asked him what he was gonna do with it and he said he was gonna scrap it! :ROTF:

I said I will take it off his hands as my wife and I are looking at a house. Applying for the mortgage on Wednesday. Anyhoo.... :woohoo:

It is a 1967 1277. Needs some major work to get it usable as a mower but I should have it running on Monday.

I will get pics later but just wanted to introduce myself.

Where are some good suppliers? I need a right sided spindle assembly, the brackets to hold the mower to tractor with the pullies, drive belt, mower belt, generator belt, some decals, fan guard.

Also, will a coil from a Farmall H 12v work for a coil?

Also, I am wanting to do a tune up. I have the spark plug but need the wire, condenser (? Little round thing for the coil), carb rebuild, and adding a in-line filter.

Not promising this little bugger is gonna stay stock as I have a tendency to mod a bit.

:ROTF: congrats on your new mortgage and :D:woohoo: Since you like to mod your projects I'll have to be watching your build up! If you do a search you can find some amazing mods others have done. Anything that you can't find just post. The members here are some of the most helpful and knowledgeable around! At least from my perspective because I've gotten a lot of help and info from this forum. :D

Thanks guys!

I have been doing TONS of reading and have a few questions but where is the proper place to post? Related to everything from engine to trans...

Also, not too many 1277 threads... How popular is this tractor?

Also noticed a lot of IL members! Any meets happening?

Hey dodger21 whats up

I'm also from Ill. and I have a 1276 & 1277 that I'm still looking for parts

for each one of them. Really trying to find a belt guard for a 1276.

There are a few shows in Illinois and Indiana that I've been to and had a

little luck finding parts that I needed.

What part of Ill. are you from .

Good luck, and keep looking you never know where you might find parts,

and tractors, sometimes and your not even looking.
