Rollerman 290 #6 Posted May 30, 2008 Don't know how I got on this thread so late. But currently I am useing a 48" commercial deck on my 312A..... It's only temporary till I get my 42"RD deck done or buy a 520 for my 48" deck... But I can say thet the 312 will pull it...but don't let it get to long & don't hurry it. dgjks6 6 #7 Posted May 30, 2008 I'm in Akron Ohio. My horse is an 8 speed. Thought about getting a hydro because when mowing 2nd is too slow and 3rd is too fast. My grass is not thick, but I do mow up hill a lot and sometimes the engine strains a little going up hill. The 37 inch deck I have now cuts nice, but has a tendency to leave a strip in the middle. I think the blades are too short. They are only 18 1/4 which I think is shorter than the replacement OEM blades I saw. Don't know where these came from.
