Starting Problem

Recommended Posts

cbschertzer

I have a D160 which only starts "intermittently. Seems that if I push the brake pedal in all the way and then let it out "part way" it sometime connects. Starter is not getting power (will not even click). Electric clutch is turned off and seat switch is disconnected. Is there a switch somewhere that stops power going to the starter????

Sounds like you found your problem it's the brake switch, not sure where it is located on a D but shouldn't be hard to find, to test it, after you find it, unplug it and jump the wires to see if that fixes your problem, I've had sticky switches and a few shots of WD-40 and work them, some times fixes them.

I had a similar problem with my b80 and I did the same exact thing kelly recommended with spraying it with wd40 and I have never had any problems since then and that was a couple years ago.
