Ground wiring question

Recommended Posts

dgjks6

I am about to put the first wire back on a c85 with a K181 I am working on. It is the ground wire on the engine mount.

Two questions

1 - can I use stainlees bolts to attach the ground wire to the frame?

2 - do I need to remove paint before making the connection so it is metal to metal?

:banghead: your on the right track. and if you want a good clean look you can touch up th paint after it's all bolted together. good clean conections will prevent problems later. good luck :ROTF:

When I disassembled my C-101, I found that a stainless steel star washer had been placed between the ground wire terminal and the engine block, as well as between the wire terminal and the frame.

Anything that you can do to have a more complete ground.
