Need a higher hitch.

Recommended Posts

Ok, I don't weld.

So, I need a way to lift my hitch to a height about 7 inches or so higher than standard height to accommodate my new log splitter. 2" ball

A bolt-on solution would be easiest for me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Eric, there is a blacksmith in RI who makes a bolt on rig for about $ 50.00. I got one from his e-bay listing, they work great. You can go on e-bay and try wheel horse hitches. He also makes a rig taht fits on the front attach-o-matic. Good luck Joe in Norton,MA

Maybe something like this might work.

You'll just need to drill 4 holes into the 1/2" flat bar. cut the threaded rod and ream out the existing hitch's hole. You could probably use a smaller diameter threaded rod but I tend to build heavy. Uses the existing hitch to support the flat bar with the threaded rod so it won't rip out the 3/8 bolts.

$.02 worth

EDIT-- cut a piece of pipe to fit and use 1/2" threaded rod.

Eric, if you scroll down to "Did some Horse Trading This Weekend" from Ken B.

He has a picture of a C125, and it show the hitch adapter, you are lookinf for.
