wh1257 225 #6 Posted July 11, 2010 these are the most popular horses in wheel just to belgium the sad thing is that they only since 1967 have started to type 1257 here in belgium they have no rj or surburban gebouwt I think that's unfortunate because I would love one but they also want the special type of command gebouwt 7 with a 7 hp engine kholor ps if someone on my way to buy a good one surburban or rj can help as long as he was running well
BPjunk 184 #7 Posted July 12, 2010 It is interesting to note that Wheel Horses were built in 28 different countrys, it would be neat to see if the assembly line procedures are the same in Belgium as there were here in the U.S.. Thanks for sharing ! Wild Bill
Sparky-(Admin) 19,286 #8 Posted July 12, 2010 The diesel with the monster tires/wheels would be real cool to see in person. I wonder why we never saw such a beast here in the states!! Could it have been the emisions ? Thanks for sharing! Mike..........
wh1257 225 #9 Posted July 12, 2010 this 512d was a spacial model for europe know there are just three of the same model I would certainly like to buy one but they are very expensive and I'd much rather have a rj or surburban

Thanks for sharing ! Wild Bill I never really thought about it but I just assumed they were all made in the USA. There is a nice D-250 on Ebay that was made in Germany. Butch S. Buzz 502 #15 Posted July 14, 2010 It is interesting to note that Wheel Horses were built in 28 different countrys, it would be neat to see if the assembly line procedures are the same in Belgium as there were here in the U.S.. Thanks for sharing ! Wild Bill Bill, were the whole tractors made in 28 different countries or were Wheel Horse parts made in 28 different countries and assembled in Belgium and the USA? Maybe they were sold in 28 different countries or came in 28 different flavors? No wait, I'm getting them confused with Baskin-Robbins Enlighten us Wild Bill............. As far as assembly line procedures being the same, do they drive on the correct side of the road as we do, or on the wrong side? :thanks:
wh500special 2,050 #16 Posted July 15, 2010 a 512d has a 12 hp diesel engine It's technically an 8.5hp engine. The "12" in 512-D might relate to having similar capabilities of a gasoline 12 hp...I'm speculating though. Apparently the little Robin was a bit problematic in this application as the starter tended to snap off the block. A secondary brace was added to help alleviate the situation and it reportedly cost some serious money in warranty claims. I'd love to have one! Steve
