The Wheel-horse Delorean model

Life is funny somtimes. How little things can sneak up on you and become

a full blown obession

Before I finished the 854 complete rebuild I knew what my next project was

going to be. A mostly stainless steel tractor. A nagging voice in my head said

"build it and it will run" Soooooo here goes

I had planned to use the transmission center case w/gears ,wheel rims, fenders and

hood from the original tractor

I would try to build the rest out of stainless steel

I also will add bronze bushings every where feasable and zerk fittings

one of the first things was to get a good transmission to use

100_3659.jpg

blue prints were made from the original parts so I could reverse engineer all the parts that I would need

frame rails steering shaft and foot peg

100_3658.jpg

Front spindles ,brake pedal, belt tensioner, tie rod, brake rod, lower steering block

100_3663.jpg

100_3662-1.jpg

lift arm assembly

100_3665.jpg

transmision side plate (original in back of new one you can see the bearing housings setting on top with brake band block)

100_3656.jpg

I had to build a fixture to hold the transmission pieces for welding also other

parts ready too be welded

will post more tomorrow

Buckrancher, Your 854 resto was simply amazing, I love it!

Didn't think anyone could match the attention to detail or quality workmanship!

But you can! The Delorean , what a great idea! I'am sure you can pull it off!

Can't wait to see more! Keep the good stuff comming!

That's just awesome Brian :D

I bet if you if made and sold a kit that would use someones stock engine, transmission parts, hood seat etc. there would be a line for them.

I know I would want one :USA:

What a cool idea! It should look great sitting in the sun with all the stainless polished up. Might even need sunglasses to stare at it :D .

Buckrancher: This is the greatest love for wheel horses I have seen yet!

Good luck with a great project.

Reminds me of the 1959 or 1960 Mercedes that was made out of stainless steel that surpaseed a million miles of use!

We will all be watching your progress with eager eyes!

98% of the welding was done by a friend and co-worker who has been

welding for over thirty years in a machine shop environment
