Chapter 3, Page 1.........

The black tractor was disassembled down to the frame/trans stage again. The lower steering shaft needed extended 3", so it was cut, sleeved, and welded. Two new holes were drilled in the frame for the lower steering support, and 3 holes were drilled for the new location of the engine. (I used an extra oil pan as a template)

The front axle mount on the frame also received new 3/4" holes about 1 inch above the stock location. The 551 front axle pivot bolt hole was also drilled out to 3/4" so a new-style bolster pin could be used.

As of right now, the floor to end of frame measurement is 10". As a comparison, my 1056 measures 15". :D

I was quite busy working, so I didn't get many pictures.

I think there's a "Barrel of Monkeys" container in Mom & Dad's attic.

A little simulated chrome paint & a couple hose clamps should make a pretty good replica, wouldn't ya say ?????

I have a little re-engineering to do up there first -- as soon as I get through all this tough mechanical work. :D

TT I just noticed the paint stand there in the back ground.

Do you tie that down when it's windy?

Rat Rods looking great...can't wait to see further progress.
