which 8 speed is best 4 pulling? and why?

i have heard of people use hydro internals in 8 speeds? not sure how it all works please help? :D

8 speed , 8 pinion, 1 1/8" axle, Bs(like B80, B100) and Cs, 400 and 500 series have them

they pull fine as they are

From what I can find out from the Toro information your tractor should have a 5091 transmission with 4 pinions. The 1975 and later C-120 had 8 pinions according to the Toro drawings. Don't know if this information is right. Taking it apart is the only way to know for sure.

According to this the 5901 has 8 pinion, It also appears that the 4 pinion model has 1" shafts and the 8 pinion has 1 1/8" shafts. Is there any truth to this? I will measure my shaft size if that is the case.

4 pinions had the 1" shaft and and 8 pinions had 1 1/8 just measured the origninal one from my 310 and and the 8 pinion thats in it now
