nwh1-0475 0 #1 Posted April 14, 2010 My dad has a 69 Workhorse 700. I have had the carb rebuilt but it still won't run correctly. Where can I get a newer version. I don't have the engine model with me right now. any help would be great. Thanks.
tommy3horse 3 #2 Posted April 14, 2010 Good day; I was having the same problem with the carb on my GT14. I was about ready to scrap it in favor of any other unit or pull the last of my hair out. A valued member here told me to disassemble it and soak it overnight in a bucket of carb cleaner then blow out all the passages. (After cleaning it several times the "conventional" way with gumout...which didn't work and caused me much frustration.) Give this a try and you may be as surprised as I was in how effective this method is. Good luck. Tom :omg:
markslawnmowerworld 4 #3 Posted April 14, 2010 I agree.......try to rebuild yours first.....the new tecumseh carburetors are preset immisions carbs and sound like crap......im sure you don't want that....... when you do go to soak it in carb cleaner solution remove the welch plugs to.. the rebuild kit comes with two new ones. :omg:
nwh1-0475 0 #4 Posted April 15, 2010 I would love to do this but I don't know what whelch plugs are and I am absolutly no good with setting carbs up. I don't understand how they work or what to adjust. All the shops that we have taken it to can't do any better that what I have done. I have been unable to find any diagrams or intructions on how to do this. If anybody can provide some help I would really appricate it.
