eibbed 61 #1 Posted April 2, 2010 Yesterday a Craigs List post said "old Wheel Horse tractor $150.00". I called and was told that it had been in the back of a garage for about 25 years. The seller couldn't tell me anything about it over the phone. So naturally, I hooked up my trailer and took off across the river for St. Louis, MO. You just never know what's lurking beyond that muddy Mississippi. As you can see, I brought her home. I gave $100.00 for the tractor, a neat little trailer and a complete torch kit, bottles included. I also got the blade for the plow. I don't plan on restoring it, but I do want to bring her back to life. Jason, I will probably use the engine and transmission out of my "Somadis" tractor. For now, I am going to put some front wheels on and tarp her while I try to work on my 702 and Suburbans for my grandchildren. I hope you guys enjoy the pictures. CasualObserver 3,406 #2 Posted April 2, 2010 Dave that's a fantastic grab! Looks like a pretty complete 701, with early short frame blade, early dump cart and very rare and hard to find HL-22 light kit!!! With a hydro lift to boot? Man, that's a good day right there. :D

eibbed 61 #15 Posted April 4, 2010 It is really nice to hear from all of you. If it weren't for the support and encouragment I get from our members, I wouldn't have the courage to bring home and work on half of the tractors that I do. Thanks alot! Well I couldn't leave her alone until I got some other projects finished like I said I would in my earlier post. The grandkids tractors have temporarily been put on hold. The hood was put into the electroliysis yesterday and received a coat of bare metal etching primer this morning. The genetator belt cover is E-cooking now. The pan seat that was mostly rusted away got replaced with a much nicer one and I have a real nice set of front tires and rims that I will mount tomorrow. The battery box is half corroded away, so I will replace it with one that I have laying around here somewhere. I'll let you know when I get her running. I hope you all have a great Easter. eibbed 61 #22 Posted April 6, 2010 Steve, I got in and out of that state real fast. I had to, because you never know where Rick is going to be, or when he'll be there. It was however close enough to the border that I think Rick will be ok with it. Dave
