I think the wheel and insert should be round but have distorted over time. It is hard to see in the picture but the insert is not round but it is not a perfect triangle either.

Kelly think I was wrong also,but I have seen that wheel maybe once or twice on Johns and Georges tractors,rare style wheel,but never with a cap,still thinking they should have been round when new though Rick

I think they should be round also, but did not shrink at the point the wheel spokes are located because more stable, but just a thought.

I will bite... I bought a steering wheel from Lincoln that he said was stock and an insert from another vender.  Pretty certain the larger steering wheel on my GT-14 was from a car.
