Another Wheel Horse Tri-Cycle

Recommended Posts

Gene_S

Just thought I'd show everyone my progress with my 753 tri-cycle. I've been working on this for about one year. I stoped at one point and started a 500 Special restore.

The beginning 753 with the steering system all welded together

Rebuilt transmission and painted up

Built front end

Got painted sheet metal on

Starting to polish gas tank. I done away with the two piece gas tank gasket and aluminum welded the two together

Hope to get the hood work all done then get onto the motor. I still need to replace the back tires and sandblast the rims and paint them to.

Thanks for looking!

Looks great, Gene! :omg:

Does it steer quick? Mine did at first - until I built the reduction cluster sprocket :D .

Thanks guys... Yes it does steer quick TT... I wanted a 10 tooth sprocket on the steering wheel side and a 20 tooth on the wheel end but I could not find one that small. It has a 12 tooth on the steering wheel side and a 20 or 22 (cant remember) on the wheel end.

:omg:

Other than looking kool is there a practical reason for the narrow front end?

:D

Nick

A narrow front garden tractor should have a tighter turning radius that can come in handy for many uses. But among people who own anywhere up to and over 60 garden tractors, practicality isnt a real big reason. :omg:

Thanks for all the great comments! Makes me want to finish it even faster!

Stop over anytime Scott... Will I be seeing you at mentone april 17?

Like nick said w9jab this thing will turn super tight... Otherwise its just really neat and if the tractor wouldn't of been a basket case it would of been kept original.

Thanks Stephen! You'll be seeing it this fall at the Mentone tractor show...

As for the stability tgranthamfd, I'm sure there could be some issues but nothing like the the Honda three wheeler I had when i was a kid... Man I corner rolled that thing several times... Wonder why they went to four wheelers!!!
