Mith 2 #1 Posted March 8, 2008 Wondering if anyone has converted a WH to having a foot throttle? I was thinking about making it to have a foot throttle, and a hand throttle to set the minimum rpm. Thinking now about just having a foot throttle seeming as I just use it for towing.
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #2 Posted March 8, 2008 A lot of pulling tractors are converted to foot throttles. There are even kits available from some places that provide all the parts, including the cable. Here's ONE
Mith 2 #3 Posted March 8, 2008 There isnt room to put a pedal that big though, I think I need to fit it under the brake, or alongside it or something.
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #4 Posted March 8, 2008 That's true..... Your tractor has seperate pedals for the clutch and brake. Now we need a "plan B".
baerpath 517 #5 Posted March 9, 2008 Iknow some use the small pedal from the early pto setups as a gas pedal. Or make one like a D 250 has you push down on it with your toe to go another way I've seen is to set it up so you press down with your heal It all depends on what tractor you need one on
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #6 Posted March 9, 2008 I'm guessing he wants to put one on his 312-8 loader/backhoe tractor, Duane.
Mith 2 #7 Posted March 9, 2008 Terry, on the C125, so yea, it has pedals for both clutch and brake. Duane, got a picture of the toe one on the D? I think that might be the way to go. Mount it neaxt to the brake pedal, should be enough room to touch it with my big toe as it were without it getting in the way of the brake.
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #8 Posted March 9, 2008 Just imagine a mushroom sticking straight up through the footrest, about halfway between the back end and the brake pedal, Jim. You would have to lift your foot up and forward to get to the brake pedal. The pivot would be on the underside of the footrest.
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #9 Posted March 9, 2008 Here's the best I could do with a quick idea..... You can use the idea, or ignore it all together, -- but it might work if the cable arm can be kept away from the drive belt.
Rollerman 290 #10 Posted March 9, 2008 Looks like a pretty slick idea TT. A thought I had was to find the correct peices of the no name tractors "they still had 1 peddle" & convert it ...leaving the spare peddle to be used as a throttle? Probably not as easy getting those parts over there though?
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #11 Posted March 9, 2008 I think all you'd have to do is hook the correct brake rod up to the arm at the end of the clutch pedal rod just like the "one pedal" tractors. The clutch would then be the clutch/brake and the brake pedal could be used as a throttle pedal.
