Unidrive Issues

Recommended Posts

Electro12WH

I have a 4 speed Unidrive that I rebuilt last year. I didn't use it much because it had shifting problems. It doesn't want to go into reverse without working it back and forth between R&1. It seems as if something is loose. I just took it apart to see what I may have left out. ??? I couldn't find anything wrong. The rails and forks seem fine. It has a new detent ball and springs. The shift lever mounts fine. Any ideas?

Did you install the reverse gear upside down? B)

That was my first thought too.

One end of the gear will have a "lead in" ground on the end of the teeth to help it engage with the other gear. Make sure that the lead in's face each other.

The R-1 and 2-3 gears have the fork groove towards each other. The reverse idler has the bevel facing out away from the case.
