Hi new here. Just been given a wheel horse tractor and with some help from some guys on another forum we have established i have a Lawn Ranger 1970 vintage built in Oevel Belgium Was distributed by Mountfield here in the uk. It has a Kawasaki FA210v engine which appears to be a bit unusual or completely wrong engine for this model. I have been looking at the gearbox as it has quite a lot of play in the gear lever and unfortunately i broke one of the mounting points off when refitting it. So i am looking for some help from the UK guys to source a replacement part. When i initially started looking for references to the wheel horse lawn ranger i was very surprised to find they have quite a big following. I looks like i am now becoming hooked on these little marvels

Gerry,

 I'm sure one of our UK members here could help you out. And I think that Jim (Mith) may have a Lawn Ranger that he's either parting out or selling.

Welcome, Gerry!

Your little Ranger should be a 1970 model (that's what the U.S.A. model is)

The gearbox is a Peerless model 617 and you should be able to new get parts from a dealer that handles Tecumseh, or check with Mith as Terry stated.

I know i can get the part from America but it only costs $1.42 ish so postage costs will be a bit high. i also need a new air filter as the foam sleeve has disintegrated that will push the price up to around $20 + postage I think i will have to scout around the mower shops see what they can offer

Funny this was only going to be cheap way of cutting me grass in France but now it's materializing into a cherished restoration. :D

Gerry, you are a very lucky man.

I have a Lawnranger that I was going to part and scrap tomorrow, I was going to do it yesterday, but it was too cold, lucky I didnt I guess.

What parts do you want, or all of it? (I have already removed the engine gearbox, bonnet and wheels, but have all the parts. Its all good, no broken parts.

Also have a complete mower deck.

Should be a techumseh engine I think in your tractor.

I have kawasaki engine parts, cant remember what model though.

Jim, I'm dissapointed :D Scrap a vertical shaft? :P:D I know you can't save them all. I pulled the 71 lawn ranger i had here apart as it wasn't worth saving and toted up abunch of parts. Then of course I bought 2 more within a month  Oh well keeps me out of the bars.

Gerry  great to have another member from over the pond. We have really started to become quite an international bunch now.
