B80 Engine Oil

Hello, I just drained the oil in my B80 and it was black as night, I need to replace it, but the question is How much? and what weight for winter use (plowing)?

If I remember right, it takes just under a quart. I run 5-30 in it all year... I don't know if that is best but thats what I do... :thumbs:

Okay, the oil in it was probably 5w30 cuz it was really runny.

and didnt look like much came out into my can. Okay thanks for the help.

Would you happen to know what size air filter the B80 takes? I went to tractor supply and theyre all way too big. . .

I have been saying my tractor is a B80 but i reeally havent a clue. It looks exactly like a 1969 model with a deere green paint job.

The B-80 came out in 1974 as a 4 speed only and in 1975-76 with an 8 speed(hi/low).

While your at Tractor Supply pick up some red paint :thumbs: .

If it's a K181, 8HP, it takes 1 Qt. SAE 30 in summer, 0 to 32 deg. 10w30 or 10w40, below 0 to -20, 5w20 or 5w30.

This is right out of the Kohler manual.
