leichty 0 #1 Posted January 3, 2010 Hi this is my first question on this Forum, I have never had any problems with the charging systems on any of the horses i have restored.Ihave a Charger 10 I'm re -doing. It of corse has a 10hp Kohler with a electric starter but no generator. Does it charge some how under the fly wheel? And how do i tell if it is charging besides the battery staying charged. Sorry for such a stupid question. Thanks Scott
Sparky-(Admin) 19,286 #2 Posted January 3, 2010 It produces AC voltage by a stator under the flywheel which goes into a voltage regulator/rectifier. Put a meter across the pos/neg battery terminals when the tractor is off and then again with it running. It should give you a higher reading when its running, something like 13-14 volts. Mike....
