Snow in Maryland

Recommended Posts

rmaynard

Well I knew it would happen. For the last couple years we haven't had enough snow here to be concerned about. So I started taking a few things off the B-100 to do a little prep work for the late-winter, early-spring restoration.

The Weather Channel just revised their forecast for the Central Maryland area.

12 to 36" with 20 to 30 mph wind predicted. Holy cow! This global warming thing has me confused :notworthy:

Okay, the chains are back on, the plow's back on, the gas is in the tank and I'm ready to go. Generator is gassed up, plenty of coffee in the kitchen...

Now if I can just find my mittens!

If we get what is predicted, pictures will follow.

I think that amount of snow will basically shut down that entire region. It looks like you're prepared. Stay warm!

I think the size of this snowstorm might have just convinced my wife that we really do need a snow blade. Let it snow!

Hey Brian in Millersville.

I was just up to Daves Tractor World (outside of Gettysburg) and he has a NOS snow blade for sale. I think it will fit your horse. Might want to give Dave a hollar if your serious about a snow pusher.

It's 8:00 AM here in New Windsor, MD, and we had about 5" of snow over night. If I have anything more than that, the old gal won't push it. The drive way is on a slight uphill grade. This snow was fairly light, so a little deeper would not have been a problem. When the snow is wet and heavy, I clear about 6" at a time. Next wave of snow due today. Should have a total of about 18 to 20". Here is a picture that my wife took as I was almost done.

I'll post more later. As you can see, the old B-100 is sure in need of some paint. And the driver? That's another story.

Thanks Rick. The only thing that would make it better is some rear weights and front chains.
