hydro synthic 10-30??

Would it hurt to use synthic 10-30 in my hydro C-161? would there be any advanage?

It wouldn't hurt and the jury is still out on your second question. To me is makes sense that it's good. Synthetics are better when it comes to heat tolerance which does build up in hydraulic units.

I run synthetic 10w-30 in all my hydros [2-eatons and1-sundstrand]. I feel that the synthetic offers better protection from the heat of a hydraulic drive system and flows better at cold temps for faster warmups snowblowing. I do feel that if any seals or gaskets are in poor condition synthetic oils climb better than conventional oils and can cause a leak where none existed before, that said I have had no leaks that I can attribute to synthetic and not normal wear.
