gregg.d250 0 #1 Posted November 2, 2009 Hi all- I'm trying to figure out if the following side-discharge 42" deck (apparently off a B-Series) will fit on my C-81. The C-81 came with a 38" deck which is.... well.... let's just call it "well ventilated" by the ever-active tinworm...... I came across the following deck, and being somewhat new to the W-H world, I was wondering if this will fit with minimal to no mods/tweaks- 0542MR04 81019 Thanks in advance for your input- Gregg in VA
Docwheelhorse 2,560 #2 Posted November 2, 2009 Hi-- a 42" deck off of a B series with a HORIZONTAL SHAFT ENGINE--i.e. B80, B100 etc... will fit a C81 without an issue. A 42" deck being spun by the 8 hp kohler will be a bit under-powered. Keep the blades razor sharp and don't try and cut a hayfield and you should be OK. gregg.d250 0 #3 Posted November 3, 2009 Thank you Tony. The 42 was off a B-80 with the horizontal shaft Kohler. I won't be cutting any hay with it, that's for sure! Not with 8 hp and 11 lbs-ft of torque coming from that little mill in the C-81. Anyone know how to decode the deck model numbers? Is there a resource somewhere on the site I haven't found yet? Thanks - Gregg
