C120 GT Puller project

Recommended Posts

Got the frame cleaned up , primed and painted

This tractor will be from at least 3 different tractors.

The frame and tin work is a C-160 eight speed, the trans is 8 speed 8 pinion from a C-81, the motor is a 12 HP Kohler from a C-120 Auto.

The C-160 tranny has to be taken apart and get new seals at some time, it will be a spare or go in another tractor.

Next i gotta get the hood stand cleaned up and painted. Then i can start assembly.

Maybe i should name it Frankenstein :scratchead:

I have the C-120 auto frame all cleaned up it, will be going under a B-80 eight speed that someone screwed up the holes where the motor bolts down. It to will also be a GT puller. The C120 and B80 frames are the same part number.

One will be a stock 12HP class and the other stock 18 or 20 HP class.

The frame pic is not to good, but the paint came out pretty good for a rattle can:

Trans and new hitch i bought off EBay, the bolts need trimming.

Will be welding 4 tabs to top and bottom of hitch to bolt wheelie bars too

The tires are 26x12-12 on 13" wide wheels.

More assembly today. I think the foot rests and battery box will be black.

Next will be painting the motor black, and installing it so i can work on the wiring, will be pretty basic wiring being a puller.

For some reason, maybe lighting the the pics a re bit fuzzy :scratchead:

More progress; gave the motor a quick paint job, it may well come back out and get some work done.

Battery box and air cleaner needs painted and need to dig up a 4" pulley, i broke mine getting it off the 16HP motor :scratchead:

. working on the wiring now. doing all new, Walmart has 16 ga for $3 a package in various colors and gotta get some terminal ends, i think i have them all except the push on for the switch and ammeter.

then will be time to build weight brackets, wheelie bars, and work on the rest of the tin work.

Wiring is done, charging system works good, stuck a gas tank in, got it running and drove it around the yard a bit :scratchead:

Took me a while to figure out the clutch won't completely release without the belt cover on.

Found out i need to space the rear fender up off the big tires and the belt cover needs painting. Little by little. Took battery box out to paint.

Also started on the B80 eight speed project, going on a C120 Hydro frame. The B80 frame was a bit rough and the motor mounting holes were messed up.
