Creature Comfort Mods ??.........

Recommended Posts

Crow Horse

I'm curious as to what creature comfort mods folks have done to their horse(s). I'm noodling making a rear rack that will slide onto the outboard parts of the rear axle and pin to the hitch as a support. From there it will angle up to support the rack (relatively small). I'm looking to fab up an easy to install/remove rack system that will also allow the hitch to be used. I'm just noodling this now.

My goal is to make a rack that will contain items like tools, chainsaw, etc. without having to hook up a wagon......

If this idea precipitates, maybe a drink holder would be in order......

Wilbur! That's a sheep in horse's clothing! :thumbs2:

One simple "creature comfort" I have done recently is to make

an attachment point on the back of the seat where one of those

blinking LED lights can be attached. I got one of those lights

from a bicycle store that flashes red for safety to the rear of the

bicycle and mounted it on the horse for safe snow plowing this winter.

Now I am sure I will be visible....

Crow, I'd take a run to a local ATV dealership and have a look at some of the racks they put on those machines. Might give you some fodder for thought?

Lots of good ideas! Keep em' coming!

One thing I did was to add a zirc fitting to the clutch pedal. The same will be done to the brake pedal.........

I fabricated a sleeve hitch for a B-115 automatic vertical shaft tractor. The lift rod

is attached to the deck lift arm.

Below is the deck lift arm on the B-115. notice the extra notches I hogged out for

extra lift...

So that I can pull this old modified plow through the ground. In previously worked soil

only.

This machine drags a brinly cultivator very nicely. The automatic transmission

makes for easy cultivation of row crops of vegetables such as corn.

This setup will pull this homemade potato plow....

Which makes nice rows for onions, potatoes, and for transplanting of various cell

packs of vegetables.
