I did not need to have the Crank redone my Dad took some emery paper and shined it up so it's smooth . Ben

Thats good to hear Ben.

Sometimes the crank journal tends to get oval or egg shaped after a lot of hours.

Always a good idea to check it & see if it's still in spec.

Steve, I have to order the parts for my 953's 10 HP motor online sometimes you need to have the Crank redone or polish by hand it's not like I work the tractor hard. I either pull a two wheel dump cart around the yard . Ben :thumbs:

I think what Stephen is saying is since you're taking the time to do it right it wouldn't hurt to have the crank "miked" at a machine shop. Sure would be a shane to ruin all the new parts because the crank was out of round and spit the bearing out.
