C-160 progress

Recommended Posts

nylyon

Figured I'd start a new post here since I am doing a little more work on the C-160 again. First up is the removing of that non-C160 hydraulic valve (which by the way if anyone needs it it's for sale).

And replaced with the original type that I got off of eBay with some hoses from Scott (4StarCstms). I am a lot happier with this valve, and the larger OEM pressure hose makes the cylinder operate faster which is nice.

In another week or two, I should have another update. I am getting a hard to get part which will really make the C-160 look great! Stay tuned.....

I like it a lot, just wondering why amp meter shows charging with the ignition switch in the off position.

The tractor was painted by Eldon (kj4kicks) using Valspar Restoration IH Red with hardener. It was then finished with 2000 grit and polished as you see it. There is no clear coat on it.

Thank you all for the compliments.

Carl, You can't be using that thing. It looks cleaner now than the first pic which I know is an archive photo. :ychain::thumbs::thumbs2: It still looks awesome and those little finishing touches just make it that must cleaner! Nice work!

I know it's already been said, but that is a nice piece of tractor you have there. You are an excellent photographer too by the way. Makes me want to hold out for a C-160 myself.

Nope it's not the mats, I actually like the ones that are on it better than the sandpaper type.

I just received one of the new parts yesterday (Thanks Charlie!) after some prep work and paint I'll be putting it on. Hopefully I'll be able to get to that soon and get some more pictures.

It's gotta be the seat. I don't see anything else that it needs :scratchead: . Great looking tractor Coach :hide: .

Well, no seat yet, but I do have a muffler (Thank You Charlie) just need to clean it up a bit and give it a shot of paint. Thanks for the compliments, it's coming along nicely. Of course having an Eldon head start is a bonus!

Coat one is on, I have already put on 2 more coats. Still have to get 2 new muffler clamps then it goes back on.

The muffler should be basically parallel to the edge of the hood, and the end of the tail pipe should be about halfway between where it is, and the frame rail.

Progress is looking good!
