AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STATE COLLEGE PA 547 AM EST WED JAN 26 2011 .SYNOPSIS... -- Changed Discussion --A STRONG UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE CURRENTLY ENTERING THE TENNESSEE VALLEY THIS MORNING WILL MOVE PROGRESSIVELY NORTHEAST ACROSS THE SOUTHERN MID ATLANTIC REGION THIS EVENING. MEANWHILE A COMPLEX AREA OF LOW PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE WILL REORGANIZE AND INTENSIFY AS IT LIFTS NORTH ALONG OR JUST OFFSHORE THE MID ATLANTIC COAST. THESE FEATURES WILL COMBINE TO PRODUCE MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW ACROSS SOUTHERN PENNSYLVANIA THROUGH EARLY TONIGHT. A SERIES OF CLIPPER SYSTEMS WILL LIKELY BRING ADDITIONAL LIGHT SNOWS TO THE REGION THROUGH THE WEEKEND AS TEMPERATURES STAY AT OR BELOW SEASONAL AVERAGES.-- End Changed Discussion -- I'll clean this up in the morning. Then the wife and I leave for The Carribean for our 25th Anniversary. :ROTF:
  5. In Pittsburgh - Primanti Brothers on Forbes Av. is a must.
  6. Next BIG Snow

Central PA. MEDIUM RANGE COMPUTER FORECAST MODELS CONTINUE TO INDICATE THAT A MAJOR WINTER STORM *MAY* THREATEN THE REGION LATE TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. ALTHOUGH THE STORM THREAT IS STILL BEYOND 72 HOURS...HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS ARE A DISTINCT POSSIBILITY OVER A LARGE PORTION OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA GIVEN MANY DETERMINISTIC SOLUTIONS AND A MAJORITY OF ENSEMBLE FORECAST SYSTEM OUTPUT. A SMALLER PERCENTAGE OF SOLUTIONS SHOW A WEAKER STORM PULLING OUT TO SEA OFF OF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST...RESULTING IN FAR LESS SNOWFALL FOR PENNSYLVANIA. MONITOR FORECASTS THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT WEEK FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION ON THIS POTENTIAL STORM. FOR NOW WILL MENTION 35-45 PCT HIGH CHC POPS. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN BELOW NORMAL. <_<
  7. Our local weatherman is talking about a BIG snow storm for midweek. I was cleaning up our last snow (3") and snapped the drive belt on my 1056. This happened because I am messing with the pully size on the tranny. I think I will go back to my old setup untill winter is over. So I need to heat up the garage and get to work.
