  1. What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

I found some PPG Delthane/Delstar fast reducer and fish eye remover. Painted my IH 560 worker this winter. Hopefully this Horse turns out as well.

Hello Horse fans! I took PeacemakerJacks advice about Valspar and after some searching, I finally got a gallon of paint and 2 cans of hardener from Farm and Fleet of all places. Not bad for $30.00. Now for sandblasting, Scotchbrite, and patience. Thank you Peacemaker!!
  3. C-195 help

You're right Sarge, very few and far between around. The main reason my great grandfather bought it was because he lost use of left leg and couldn't get on his farm tractors anymore. Thus being it was a hydro, he could maintain the lawn himself. Plus, it matched the I-H tractors we used. Only red power or orange.
  4. C-195 help

I've been hunting all day for Valspar Restoration IH Red and everyone I spoke to says it was discontinued 4 years ago 😒 So, it's either Rustoleum Sunrise Red or possibly go to Case IH dealer for paint. Is there a hardener for Rustoleum or is it compatible with Delthane/ Delstar?
  5. C-195 help

Thank you for taking the time to help me! I wasn't sure about restoring or leave it be but, all the pictures I see of these WH repainted makes me believe it is aching for a fresh coat πŸ˜€
  6. C-195 help

Good afternoon Horse fans! I got bored and power washed the garbage find C195. I found this over a month ago and now have the itch to repaint this summer and find decals. Any advice on color and paint brand is welcome. I also washed Raider 14 and think it will be painted first but needs wiring and find correct decals too. It had bold white letter like the no names had. The people that gave me the C195 saw it today and can't believe it runs/mows and moves. I was told it was junk and have rocks in my head for wanting to keep it. Now that it's operating again, them people want it back. Lol. No, too bad. The gravel in my head won't move. Long story short, this was my great grandfathers tractor. It was sold in 91 at his auction when I was 12 and kept track of it for 27 years. Sadly it sat outside after it left our farm but now is back in the same shed when delivered in 82. Thank you all for the help with everything so far! Any information, advice on paint and decals is welcome. Have a great day and enjoy Horsing around! πŸŽ‰πŸ˜Š
  7. R. Lee Ermey 1944-2018 Thanks for Everything

Gone but not forgotten. He visited us while we was heading to Mosul while on the CVN69 Dwight D Eisenhower. OOHRAH. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  8. You want what ... For THAT?

New low price of 1600... I just can't spend that much unless the key fob is thrown in and mint condition. Move decimal one place to the left!
  9. What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

**Update** 953 nut was right! I put the Raider in a heated shed and pulled rear end drain plug out for the night. Nothing dripped out. This morning there was a catch pan full of what looked like a melted milk shake. Filled with kerosene and diesel to flush out. I used an auger engine and v-belt to spin the rear end at an idle for an hour. Drained and repeated 4 times. Shifts like it's supposed to now! Kohler will be tackled this weekend πŸŽ‰πŸ˜€. Thank you for the advice
  10. What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

It fortunately was covered by cardboard boxes and an old overturned sofa. Lol. I intend to go through this tractor and repaint just just to show them people they were sorely mistaken about it being "junk/garbage". πŸ˜›

That's how I got a C195. The people threw it away because it was old and wanted to go green. When I say green, I mean the rechargeable battery lawnmower kind. It's a shame that something well constructed needs maintenance because of 30 years of negligence gets the axe. It's got a roof over it too now .

Can't believe I didn't even think about ice in the transmission 😯 It was 19 this morning and it has sat out for a year. Shifter boot is badly cracked after inspecting. I'm hoping it's that simple! Thank you!!!
  13. What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Hello Horse fans! I had another one pop up from a residential clean out. I own and operate a roll off truck every day and have seen some interesting things in the garbage, but this makes me glad to have but sick to see thrown away. I was dumping out my 20 yard box and a Raider 14 slid out. No starter and rear end is stuck and won't roll unless I pick up one side of the rear and push. Other than that, I will hopefully fix, repaint and park next to my other joy.
  14. What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Hello everyone! I just acquired a C195 for free and am in the process of replacing the transmission idler pulley and the PTO idler in front of the steer axle. Can't find any. Is there a cross reference number for either of them? Any help is welcome and appreciated . I have learned a lot from this site and will continue to do so. Many thanks in advance! I loaded 2 pics, my 9 year old son won't let me drive it yet. Long story behind this machine! Enjoy 😊
