Ok. Thanks sarge it is a 1973 but it has the flat head screw type tow valve and its tight.but it will barely pull for a bit then you have to get off the machine and walk beside it.I have another GET 14 with the same pump motor but the actual pump is different.I am thinking about changing it out and see what happens.Do you think that will help.thanks I gave up and sold the whole shooting match everything associated with my tractor. No longer own it. But good luck to all you guys. And thanks for all your help.

Well ohiofarmer.mine has the flat head screw and it's tight. Backed it out would not move at all,put new fluid, filter and drove it forward 100' then would not pull forward after that now no forward or reverse. Going to try and change pump later and see what that does. But thanks for your help

I Have the pump assembly taken off and split from the tractor.i just can't seem to separate the pump from the cast iron section. I removed the 4 bolts but I can't get it to separate from the cast iron section.i was afraid there was something else holding it.so do I have to take the motion actuator pin assembly out first & pulleys off first.thanks I Have the pump assembly taken off and split from the tractor.i just can't seem to separate the pump from the cast iron section. Surge & ztnoo I found tag and tow valve its tight I changed fluid and filter it will go in forward ok.for a little while but it will not go good enough to pull a blade and it will not back up.I pulled the pump section off but can't figure out how to sepperate the pump from gear section unless its all the pump.I will try to down load pics if it will let me.thanks.it says its too big.how can I download pics.

Ok.I took out the 4 bolts on the aluminum pump side and it will not budge my wheel horse model number is 105028 serial # 907273.so I believe its a 1973.I will try to remove them.those bolts are not even in line with the pump. But I will most definitely take them out and try it.thanks very much. In regards to the tag: I have yet to find it 1.its not on rear end. 2.its not on the under dash area. I can only so far find engine serial number. But I am not giving up by all means.I have an extra pump may change it out next spring and check linkage.but I appreciate all of your help.
  10. wheel horse GT 14 automatic

Sarge is correct it has the flat head screw type facing front of the tractor.it is screwed in.and with new fluid and correct filter it still only moves forward.but not with greatness, I doubt it would pull the blade in down position with a load on it.But it still will not go in reverse.Dont know what would cause this, the lift works good.would the problem be the transmission or the pump.I don't know much about these wheel Horse tractors but I would think that the lift would not work well if it was the pump.but I am going to work on it next spring.leave it alone until then.but I truly appreciate all your help.Have a merry Christmas and a Happy new year.ps.i will post a pic of ID tag later.

Hi Sarge it had red trans fluid in it, it drained out of tyranny good but the filter is real heavy and no fluid will hardly drain from it feels like its still half full.it was supposed to have ran and pulled real good when it was parked.the guy bought it for the transmission for another one he had then he came down ill.so it sat for years.hopefully this will fix it.thanks for your help. Changed the filter and fluid and valve is tight still no reverse only forward.is it pump or transmission.

Sarge! You are exactly right that is where its located,& it is a flat head screw.i purchased the correct filter and new type a tyranny fluid.I am hoping that will correct my problem.the fluid will not even dump out of it.I am going to refill with fluid later and try it.I think I will have to remove part of fender to access tow valve.I am also going to try and locate model take so I can determine year of manufacture.thanks for your help.P.S. does the tow valve screw head face up & down to drive or sideways to drive.THANKS.
