  1. Round one of this Nor’easter is done!

Awesome Horse. Love the 2-tone paint scheme. Blizzard of '93. Wifey and I were just talking about that yesterday. 36" of snow and drifts higher. No blowers or plows then either. Took 3 people all day to shovel 110' driveway. I didn't get to work until Wednesday. They finally cleared our road with a bulldozer! Today I did 7" of snow, 500' of driveway with the 416-H and thrower in 2 hours. Gotta love it. Mike in Brackney
  2. Plowing old snow drifts

Interesting about the seat. I was getting ready to lower my seat as it feels like I am sitting too high. I am 6' 4" 300 lbs but don't have particularly long legs. The steering wheel is at knee level for me. Is there a seat Thread? Mike

That is a clean looking tractor. Mike
  4. Tractor Cab

I am getting closer to a final solution to mounting this cab. I figured out how to use the framework that came with it without drilling any extra holes in the tractor or cutting/modifying the frame. After the first test drive I found that I need the whole thing raised up 2 or 3 inches. I sit tall in the saddle and the steel crossbars of the canvas top frame are painful on the scalp. Also I need to bring the bottoms of the front legs in as there is a huge gap at the foot boards. Lastly I need to attach the legs of the front panel frame to the foot boards.
  5. Wednesday, wet, heavy, slop vs the C-175

The C-175 is a great looking machine. It's the fins on the hood I think. Stylish. We got about 5" of slush here in Beautiful downtown Brackney. No thunder though. Nice driveway. Mike
  6. Tractor Cab

Made good progress tonight on mounting this cab to my tractor. Be carefully studying the pictures here and in the instruction manuals I found in the manuals section I was able to correct a few mistakes in my mockup and the parts started fitting better. I had to make 2 brackets for the rear as what came with it just was wrong. Hit the seat, gas cap, and was too low. The2 brackets I made fixed rthat. I would say I am 75% there. Just need to fabricate some brackets to extend the wishbone looking front panel frame to the footboards. I was able to mount the doors and they fit well and open and close without binding so I guess I'm on the right track. I also did a test sit. Well it's a chore getting in and out. Clearly not designed for tall old fat guys. But I do fit and can't wait to get the skin on and give it a test drive.
  7. Tractor Cab

Great pictures. They will help a lot. BIGMIKE
  8. Tractor Cab

I bought an old Original snow cab off Craigslist this Sunday. It's not the Wheel Horse version though. I got it cheap enough to take a chance of fitting it up. The seller said it was a Universal cab previously fitted to a Ford 100LGT. The brackets and frame come close to fitting but I an going to have to do some fabrication. It came with no instructions and so far I have had no luck finding instructions for such an old cab. It's made from pretty heavy canvas, not vinyl, and in really good condition for the apparent age. it also doesn't have a hard top, it has a canvas top made from the same material as the rest of it. I mocked it up and tried to figure out where the frame pieces that I have fit. I did find an instruction sheet on the Original Cab website. Cab Kit No. 4058 to fit the GT-14 has frame parts that look real close to what I have. I think I can fabricate what I need from the pictures. Here is a few pictures of what I have so far. BIGMIKE
  9. Snowthrower/Blower for 1990 416-H

Thank you Gary. Excellent information. It looks like I have all of that package. Interesting to see that the side wings were not cut down after all. However the top extension, after looking at it closely, appears to be bent down to horizontal. Maybe I can bend it back up to the proper angle. Thank You; Mike
  10. Snowthrower/Blower for 1990 416-H

Wow! Thanks guys! That clears it up nicely. I will take a look at the wings and top extension and see if I can set those right. Thank you Racinbob for confirming the fitments. Thanks Ed for pointing out the changes I will need to make pfrederi: I will take you up on the offer of help if I get jammed up. Mike
  11. I have searched this site for information on what to look for but the more I search the more confused I get. I bought this tractor on Saturday. It currently has a snow thrower mounted and it works fine but is really small. Not even as wide as the tractor. I am watching CL for a used unit but have no idea what might fit. A tutorial on what I should look for would be greatly appreciated. One CL ad I am looking at states: "I Have it on a wheel horse 312A. Fits all wheelhorse 300,400, 500 series with tach o matic." The model number looks like 79360. Here are pictures of the thrower currently on my tractor.
  12. Thanks for the advice. It was the seat safety switch. I did it to myself most likely letting the seat bounce up and down on the tow trip home. I dug around in my junk drawer and found I piece of rubbery plastic to replace it. Fired it up and tested the PTO and success! Had to try it out on our 5" snowfall we got last night. It was awesome. I am going to love this. Next it to clean it up and check for leaks. BIGMIKE
  13. WOT. The belts run and the augurs spin up as long as you don't go the last 1/2 inch on the PTO lever. As soon as you do it just quits. Ease off and it catches again. I am in the seat at WOT. Some research indicates maybe seat safety switch? Aggravating thing is, it worked when the seller demonstrated for me. 100 miles later at home...no workey. So sumpin' happened. I am on it and it will get fixed. Snow is coming and BigMike wants to play with his new toy. I will start a thread.
  14. I just brought this 416-H home today. I know that it runs well, Goes forwards and goes backwards. Doesn't stop too well and the engine cuts out when I engage the PTO 100%. But mores the fun to diagnose and fix. Got a cab lined up for it too.
  15. New aquisition

I just bought this 416-H with snow blower. It needs a bit of work but does run well.
