  1. I would also like to know how you wired the electric clutch up as well! I'm also thinking about doing this for my dads tractor.
  2. Gt14, what made you go with an electric pto vs using the manual linkage? Was it easier to go with and install vs. making new mounting brackets for the original? I'm asking as I am about to pull the trigger and stuff one into my 75 c100.
  3. 76 c100 22hp predator swap?

Hey guys, i have a 76 c100 with a k241 thats just about shot. Seems to have no power left in it at this point. I use it mainly for clearing woods behind the house and plowing the drive in the winter which it seems pretty good at. Put the mower deck on it last week to see how it cuts since ive never used it before, and it bogged down hard, almost to the point of shutting off. The plan was to get a snow thrower this year for it, but if it boggs down that hard cuttin grass, i dont know if id trust it with a blower. I started it the day after cuttin the yard, ran for maybe 5 sec before i saw oil on the floor (pretty sure its leaking from the fuel pump area on the front side) shut it off to check oil and there was what appeared to be exhaust coming out of the crankcase. Ive been searching for a 14 or 16 kohler replacement for the last few months with no luck so i thought about going a different route. Harbor freight has their 22hp motors on sale this month and thought heavily about the swap, but havent seen it done on this model if tractor, only with the 80s onan motors. So my question is, can it be done if all the module with the ignition key, choke, and throttle were removed to make clearance for the battery?
  4. Retro fit headlights?

Hey has anyone used led lights in replacement of factory headlights? Not just led bulbs but actually replace the whole headlight assembly with two led lights. I have a 75 c100 and the reflective bezel is gone, tried some other reflective material but doesnt have much projection from the led light bulbs i put in them. Was thinking of using something like this maybe?
  5. Uni drive oil leak on drive pulley

What is the easiest way of checking this? Take the pulley off of the shaft or more or less take the trans apart all together?
  6. Hi guys! Still new here and not too good at navigsting through the site so i apologize if this has been covered before. I got this '75 c100 last winter for plowing the drive and have found a use for it in clearing my woods the last two months, which after its last use of pulling one tree around and haulin my little cart with tools out there, it seems to be leakin purdy good on the pulley on the left side of the transmission. Always a drip or two here n there, enough to say "yup, its a '75". But i come out today and find an area about a foot in size with oil under her. The case doesnt seem to be craked anywhere where i can see. Seems as though its seeping through the shaft this pulley is on. Is this a common thing? If its fixable, what parts do i need n where do i get them from? Any and all help is much appreciated!

I would delete it if i could
  8. custom exhaust help

    Sorry. Phone was acting up.
  9. custom exhaust help

It will essentially be stock, just cuttuin off the muffler body itself and replacing with a piece of straight pipe. I was also going to heat wrap it. Would the heat wrap cause any issues to the system?
  10. custom exhaust help

Hi i am new here and not familiar with hoe to navigate the site to find what i am looking for. I am thinking about doing some exhaust work on my c100 since the factory muffler is starting to rot out. I want to keep the same route of the exhaust but straight pipe it with a chrome tip that has a little turn out to it. I have heard that straight piping these will cause valve issues etc so i was thinking about using a trick from the motorcycle world and using a since strainer in the exhaust tip since it will create back pressure and in the adapter from 1" to w.e. for the tip, drill a hole and use a bolt washer that blocks off 70%ish of the flow as well. I would think this would cause enough back pressure and reduce the noise a lot as opposed to just straight pipe.

  12. 1973 c100 charging issue

I was thinking about doing that. It was hard to get a reading on it so i havent had the plate bolted to the frame when ive been testing it. Ill run a wire or two and see if that helps. Also, the wire from ammeter to the battery, should be connected to the + terminal on the ammeter, right? Update: I have added ground wires from both bolts on rectifier to battery ground and still not getting more than 12.something volts at battery. Reading from "R" terminal to bat. ground jumps all over. 12 to 13s to 8 to 10 to nothing etc. Is it safe to assume the rectifier is no good now? Best place to order parts from?

  14. 1973 c100 charging issue

Is the rectifier grounded by the bolts that mount it to the plate with ammeter that bolts to the frame?
  15. 1973 c100 charging issue

I have retraced the wiring tonight and wired the tractor to what should be correct. (Someone misplaced a bunch of wires on the ignition switch..). Wires from flywheel read average of 45 volts ac (without wires connected to rectifier). Read the wire from B+ to R terminal on ignition switch from the ign. switch to battery ground (since wires are too short to check on rect) and it read a little over 10 volts dc. I take it as my rectifier is no good? Please excuse me if i have done incorrectly. Im new to this type of charging system
