  1. Manual transmission roller

I want to buy a manual transmission rolling chassis with decent tires as well as hooked up steering. Does not necessarily need to have a hood or belt guard. Only front engine models please. Need to be around an hours drive of Winamac IN. Want to spend no more than 100 dollars. If you have something you think might work, ask. The worst I can say is no. Happy Holidays!!
  2. HH100 to K241 swap

I understand the whole if it ain't broke don't fix it kind of thing. I have heard enough horror stories about techys being terrible to get tuned and I have a complete running k241 sitting around in the barn. I am more comfortable with the Kohler. It dosent much matter anyways as the tractor sold a few days back. Thanks for all of the feedback.
  3. HH100 to K241 swap

That makes sense. I am not a Techy expert by any stretch of the imagination either. Thanks
  4. HH100 to K241 swap

I know I've been mia for a while, so it's good to be back. I was looking at a Massey Ferguson 10 on Craigslist, but it has the Techumseh HH100. I have had much better luck with kohlers and just so happen to have an extra K241 laying around the barn. I was wondering if you guys thought it would be super difficult other than the obvious ( changing wiring and ignition switches) to swap out the motors.
  5. Manual transmission roller

I am not terribly picky. I wouldn't want a ball burner, but other than that I am open. What have you got and where are you located?
  6. Manual transmission roller

I find it hard to believe that nobody has a roller that they are willin to part with. If you got one give me a holler!
  7. D series Front hitch options?

I knew that there was some reason that it wouldn't work, I just couldn't remember. @pfrederi you hit the nail on the head with that answer.
  8. Wheel Horse for commercial use

I think that the general consensus is that if you could get the equipment in reasonably good shape at your price point and maintain it well, we would all love to see wheel horses gettin public exposure still doing what they were made for. It is in the end your decision wether or not to go the wheel horse route. All I can say now is good luck and keep us informed of your progress.
  9. D series Front hitch options?

I am by no means one of the experts that are on here, but I believe that your 18 auto won't have a front attachamatic which means that the hitches would not work. People have added front attachamatics to older wheel horses and I cannot foresee that being too difficult. Hope this helps.
  10. Wheel Horse for commercial use

I think if you just plan on mowin yards, I would for sure want a zero turn. However if you plan on mowing as well as doing snow removal and garden tilling like steve's dad, then the wheel horse idea sees to fit the bill perfectly. You could get an attachment for almost anything that you could ever need to do and run all of it off of 1 or 2 tractors. Although as has been stated before on here, 1 or 2 turn in to 5 or 6 quickly.
  11. Wheel Horse for commercial use

Just food for thought, if I were to run a on medical lawn care business with , I would stick to Kohler or briggs for the very reason of parts availability like @RubyCon1 said earlier. I'm sure others would disagree, but I would be worried about using an Onan a lot all day because of the overheating problems. Like Bob said zero turns are much nicer to mow with in my opinion. We do all of our mowing on 20 acres with a zero turn and I could not imagine how bad it would be to use a tractor for all of that.
  12. Wheel Horse for commercial use

Wheel horse made a commercial model called the 520 HC. I don't see why you couldn't use a wheel horse for commercial mowing.
  13. Charger 12 belt questions

I have a charger 12 with a drive belt that rubs on the guard. I have taken the guard off multiple times to try to get it to set right with no luck. Could somebody please take a picture of their belt guard and or belt routing. It almost seems to me like there should be something else pushing my belt down but then again what do I know.
  14. little yard work today in tropical pa

Here in northern IN for the first part of the summer we had taken to calling ourselves pineapple farmers because it was so dry. Last week was triple digits here, this week they are saying mid 80s. Then again, who knows, the weathermen are never right anyways.
  15. Manual transmission roller

I am looking to purchase a rolling wheel horse chassis with a good 4 or 8 speed transmission. I would prefer the steering linkage to be intact. I am planning to try to put a hit and miss engine on it as the motor. I would prefer it to be within 2 hours of Winamac IN. I have never done freight shipping but I would be open to learning about it if the right deal came along. I would like to spend no more than $75. If you have anything that fits the bill please pm me or comment.
