Like they say anything is possible with a good torch and a welder! Maybe one day if I find a beat D series I'll try and put an 8 speed into it
-
Enough to see what that sunstrand hydro will take lol I always thought of putting a eaton 1100 out of a 5xi series being its shaft driven into a D series if at all possible. Or an 8 speed into a 1/1 drop box back to a right hand gear box to the pully.

Desko started following PTO assembly rebuild. Oil? Or grease??, My New Horse, D 200 rebuild kit and and 4 others
-
Thats a very cool tractor and clean looking! A few years back I picked up a 416h 1994 model with 43 original hours for $200 my issue was the PO scattered the onan so a new onan in place with 120 hours later it's been great!
-
I found these on ebay and I think even for them rods thats nuts but they're ment for high rpm pullers lol
-
The repower in my opinion isn't worth it. You can have your onan rebuilt for right around $1,200 with all new oem parts not including machine work but are here its $70 to bore them and $25 to cut and grind the valves and seats which imho isn't bad for a smooth running engine. I've seen them go to 5,000 hours in welder gen sets running WOT. Keep the screen clean and blow out the fins with an air gun when you're done they'll go forever. Glad you got her fixed though and she's running good!
-
Not to far lol. You too! Might have to see that horse in person when she's finished!
-
Yes sir it is

Very cool jebbear! I noticed you're from Mcclellandtown Pa also and so am I! Small world isn't it?
-

Had a work horse lt1637 with the twin briggs and it was a great little tractor till second gear went out and I got rid of it.

What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?
Desko replied to Ed Kennell's topic in Wheel Horse Tractors
Not much just pushed a little snow around and let the big D stretch her legs -
We got about 5 inches of snow last night and about 7 degrees but the D160 had no problems pushing it around. The cows definitely don't seem to mind though.
-
That pully is definitely not turning! It looks as if you belt has alot of pressure on it also.
-
The pto bell for the blower and deck? I use high temp red grease in mine. Don't over pack it because if you get it on the clutch disk it wont hold and the pto will get vacuum stuck to the shaft with too much grease.

Nice! How does the D handle the FEL?
