  1. Looking for 1979 C-161 mower belt?

Hi folks, Thought this would be easy. Couldn't find it the manuals or the the forums! I'm trying to locate a replacement mower belt for my '79 C-161 8speed. The It's the 42' three bladed mower that attaches under the tractor. Can anyone help me locate the right belt which loops around to the PTO. The belt is about 99". Any cross-reference numbers or help appreciated :)!

  3. 1979 C-161 Wheel Horse pulling my boat and trailer

My 21.5 foot 3,500lb SeaRay is an easy park in my tight driveway thanks to my '79 C-161. Before going out or after coming back. I just use my C-161 with 16HP B&S to park it or pull it out for my truck.
  4. 1973 Auto 18 with Ark FEL Moves Pine Tree video!

Amen!.... Same goes for a pickup truck. Always get a kick to see these suburban Subaru or Prius drivers try to fit a box or a piece of lumber in their nano-golf carts! Can't do the job, if you don't have the right tools!
  5. 1973 Auto 18 with Ark FEL Moves Pine Tree video!

Thanks Sylvan. A fun little video production to close out a good exhausting day!
  6. 1973 Auto 18 with Ark FEL Moves Pine Tree video!

Jim, Wheel Horses are one thing. Wives are a whole different thing, lol. There's a whole lot of blogs and resources on em and still none of em know anything for sure. Way above my pay-grade to answer that!
  7. 1973 Auto 18 with Ark FEL Moves Pine Tree video!

As we have small goat farm, there is no way that I'd be able to do the work without it!. I use it all year long. From moving logs, to mucking out goat and chicken manure, to filling in the potholes on our road with RCA, this is the beast that does it all! And purs like a kitten. Pretty much a wrench, some drivers, lots of oil changes and lubes and an occasional belt and it keeps on running

Yes it did. That was the more tedious part. Luckily the soil is very sandy and the manual labor wasn't to strenuous! lol

    Thanks WHX11!
  10. Had some fun today, and moved a pine tree with my '73 Auto 18 Wheel Horse with and Ark front end loader. Had my wife film it with her iphone and decided to share with you a little fun of what amazing work this tractor does for me everyday! Enjoy!
  11. Blizzard in NY! Great day for my 1979 C-161 to get some exercise!

Thanks for the history, I love learning about those great marvels. I have a '79 black fiberglass hood with the Briggs & Stratton. That little tractor has amazing pulling power with the 8 speed. I regularly use it to move out, or park my 21 foot 3,800 lb boat and trailer in to a tight spot in my driveway. If it would be helpful, I could look for the serial # to get you more specs on when and where it was built.
  12. VIDEO of '79 Wheel Horse C-161 8 spd. throwing snow on sunny day!

Got my wheel weights and plenty of additional stern weight (Lots of recycled range lead) on my '73 Auto 18 with the ARK FEL. The C-161 never seemed to need them. Wheel chains is pretty much all that it seems to require.
  13. Blizzard in NY! Great day for my 1979 C-161 to get some exercise!

OMG she is beautiful. I only wish I could have mine look that way. I take comfort that I am able to use these as my true work horse Wheel Horses! Meanwhile Here is another longer version of the C-161 blowing snow after the storm. I hope you enjoy it. Always nice to see snow fly!
  14. Blizzard in NY! Great day for my 1979 C-161 to get some exercise!

Amen! I am a strong believer that the "latest obsolete technology, is the best technology." And the Wheel Horses are exactly that. Steel. Carbs, screws, ball joints. No computers, emissions, or nanny nonsense. With a set of wrenches, screwdrivers, a hammer and a little welding now and then, we can fix anything and keep it going. Beats calling China or dealing with the EPA. My '73 WH would probably stop an armor piercing round, lol! God bless America!
