  1. ? on demise of Wheel horse

One word CHINA! People think cheap is better, buy and throw away generation. I am 66 years old and I grew up like many of you laying on the ground beside your dad ( my dad just passed away Feb.18 at 931/2, a WW II, U S Army, combat medic ) working on whatever,so we didn't have to spend the money we didn't have on a new one. I still have that outlook. Too easy to just buy a new one. Old Bob
  2. Nice Rear

They always said at work YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID !
  3. Kohler K engine versus Magnum ?

I have a 1979 c-101 bought new by me that has plowed snow and mowed grass most of its life. Has had one set of points in all those years, no trouble starting and running no idea hours, but has thousands i'm sure. Also have a 1989 414-8 Mag 14, 1200 hours, no problems, bullet proof. Turns a 48" deck and mowes 1.25 A and never has had a problem. I vote to keep them both, you will never regret that decision!
  4. Plow trouble

How about a hose clamp arounf the spring to hold it onto the casting
  5. Winter traction

    # 40 chain on front tires workes great and it is cheep too.
  6. Onan P220 keeps cutting out, I've checked....

Maybe the gas cap vent is pluged and causing a vacum on the cas tank. Side note I would get rid of the Fram oil filter, not a big fan of Fram they are not what they were in the past. NAPA , Wix a better choice IMHO.
  7. Help getting more power from 8hp engine (k181)

In your first post you said blades are not sharp. Don't underestimate how much sharp blades will help with cutting grass or taller grass.Speed and blade sharpness is very important.
  8. Need Advice

  9. I was a Journeyman Lineman for 41 years ( electrical not football) and of course I am old.
  10. Finally got a 520H

DO NOT SLIM!!!!!!!!! you would regret that move some day. As stated tubes or new tires is the correct answer.
  11. Stained glass wheelhorse sign

    That is fine work!
  12. red lens needed

Hi guys I need one red lens for a 1989 414-8, 3114K804. It would be a lens for the diagnostic panel ( that is what I call it) on the left side of the panel.I would take two if someone has them. They just push in from the outside.Thank you for any and all help you can provide. Bob. Send me a PM or my email address is oneoldlineman@yahoo.com Thanks again!
  13. The time has come.

Although I don't know you personally, I do feel I know you through this form.We serve a great GOD and through Jesus we can ask for his help in times like these. 953 Nut said it very well, that all things are possible through our savior Jesus Christ. Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary,They shall walk and not faint, Isaiah 40:31. God speed and a quick recovery. Bob
  14. CRUD! Snapped a head bolt

At least it didn't snap off flush, that would have been a little harder to remove.
