I was just looking around Facebook Marketplace tonight in my local region and stumbled upon something pretty cute, IMO. Not sure how really practical it is, but it sure is innovative and looks on the surface from afar to be well built. The listing places it in good old Mentone, IN, home of a well-known spring and a fall tractor show in the past that has now become an early summer show. I suspect I know who may have fabricated this......part of the reason being he is from the Mentone area A forum member here who is a metal fabricator, has built other WH reproduction wagons, and that is why I suspect he had a hand in this. If he didn't, he likely knows who did build it. Anyone here have any guesses??? Comments on the below pictured gravity wagon??? If you want to know more and live out of the area, but are a Facebook user and want to see the listing, just PM me for the link.

Inherited a Gt-1800 that sat for 8 years. Replaced battery, cables and fuel filter and it started up on 8 year old fuel in the tank. I replaced the blades and it runs and mows like a champ. Im hooked now. I caught the wheelhorse bug. Just a few small patch jobs on the deck to finish up

Happy Birthday @Vinylguy, we are all glad you were born!

Well, I'll stand on the other side of the scale. I happen to love SeaFoam as a gas additive. I don't always put it in my vehicles...maybe once or twice a year with a full tank, but I always put in a couple of oz per 3 gallons of gas in my can for the horses. I've seen my wife's car smooth out by adding some to the gas tank. I've used it in a container to soak parts...it cleans them easily. I think this stuff would be good on a pizza. On the other hand, I do not like to add things to my oil or crank case. Once in a while I will add some Lucus oil treatment with the 90 wt in a rough horse transmission that I am re-building...but that is all.

I picked up a couple of movie theater poster frames the other day from the company auction. Had to buy all 9 of them just to get two. They are 30”x50” backlit with 12 LED lights. The poster section is 22”x36”. I plan on trying to talk @Vinylguy into making me a decal so it will kinda look legit. I know it’s not a factory sign but you have to do what you have do down here. Plan on painting the frame red/black or red/linen and make the center “poster”section the sign. It will get turned horizontally. I hope to make it look like @AMC RULES picture I borrowed. How about it Terry.... can we do this?

Yeah, good deals pop up, but some guys are out to get ‘em before you! Not naming any names...

Six years ago I bought a GT-14 that would only run at half throttle, wouldn't idle, and stumbled at wide open throttle. To pull the carburetor I would need to remove the fuel tank or unbolt the engine to rotate it, both would be a PITA. I added a half can of Seafoam to the fuel tank and also sprayed some Seafoam Carb. Cleaner into the air inlet several times while it was running. Within two days of running a few hours a day it started and ran much better. That made a believer of me, witchcraft or not I have used it ever since.

You can search my name and use the keyword Seafoam to see what I think about the stuff. I am an old-school guy when it comes to things like that. I was just reading through an old Popular Science magazine from the 1960's yesterday. One of my favorite columns was "Say Smokie". It was a column of questions and answers about cars and engines. Smokie Yunick was a NASCAR mechanic and car designer. In his words, when asked about additives he would say "I never put much faith in witchcraft". Nuf said!

I can understand how you feel. Three years back eldest grandson was diagnosed with cancer at 24yrs of age. In and out of hospital and at one point we thought we would lose him. He feared most of losing his navy career. To cut a long story short. The navy took really good care of him and the doctors and staff at Newcastle. He's now back at work after two years of treatment and leading a normal life again. Through all of the worry and fear, his girlfriend stood by him and they got married last weekend. I wish all the best for your son and all your family.

The magic box is simply a two to one step-up center tapped transformer. They pulled your meter and installed a plug and play device that runs the 120 volts from the incoming line to the primary wingdings. The secondary part of the transformer has twice as many winding and the output will be split by the grounded center tap. The 240 volt AC (two 120 volt lines of instantaneous opposite polarity) will be returned to the plug in device and feed your panel. It operates on the same principal as the transformer on the power pole. Amperage depends on how much power you are using. In terms of plumbing the voltage is Pressure and amperage is Flow rate (GPM).

I'm with Cleat on this one. Pull the jets spray carb cleaner in the holes. If you forget to note the settings, 1.5-2 turns out will get you running. If this doesn't help, take it off and do a cleaning. I do add Sea Foam to all my fuel as maintenance, but adding solvents (additives) to a dirty fuel system may loosen solid deposits that may increase the dirt in the carb. No additive will clean a carb that has been corroded by E-10.

Some guys swear by it and some at it and I do use it occasionally and it seems to help on mildly varnished carbs but is no substitute for a manual carb cleaning for the nasty ones.

Last I checked, most of the parts you mentioned are still available at Parts Tree. You may pay a little more for new versus used, but you'll be getting brand new parts. Not ones that might be as worn out as yours already are.Just a thought.

Per my dad "Wheel Horse was a partial sponsor of the horse park. They provided some grounds equipment and owned 2 belgian draft horses that were kept there. One of the sales brochures had a picture of the horses."

Started in today on a project. I recently picked up a b-80 ran rough and 8 speed was good, a 14HP auto with blown rear end but strong motor and a bunch of odd parts. So I'm gonna make a 14HP B-80. So here's the starting two tractors and we're I'm at now. And the greatest thing of all the steering wheel roll pin popped right out and with a little persuasion got the steering wheel off.

Here's another one I'm saving from turning into a toaster or a microwave oven. The guy said if I didn't get this by this weekend he would scrap it! Mostly good for parts . Believe it or not it has 800 hours on it. Hopefully the motor and trans are not toast!

Hank nailed it but this explains it way better than I can. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck–boost_transformer The one box may have capacitors in it to help shift the phase. These are sometimes used in larger commercial HVAC applications. @squonk might be able to elaborate more. The voltage isn't split..... the phase is shifted to 180 deg from the other one giving you back 240 volts. The amount of current of the whole affair can handle is limited by the size of the in/out cables and the rating of the mystery boxes.

Excellent there is talk of trying to get all the under cover in the horse barn. We have yet to work out the details. Denny, I've only been to NO a few times and found it to be an interesting place. But it's always been for work so not any time to do touristy stuff. Seeing the lay of the land reveals why flooding is such a big deal to these people. I'm not much for nightlife, so avoided the Bourbon Street melee after dark. But it's an interesting place to visit in the daytime too. There is always plenty of music (and lots of drunks) pouring out of the bars. It's a long way from Pawnee but worth seeing. And fun! I have to admit there were times I didn't feel entirely safe. Obviously it isn't a bad idea to stay in groups if you can. We typically stayed on Canal Street (Sheraton I think = $$$) for conferences and seminars and walked everywhere, but you have to keep your wits about you and your eyes open. I feel more safe in NO than I do here in St. Louis, but be aware of your surroundings and maybe carry your wallet in your front pocket and split your valuables between your person and your hotel safe (like everywhere else in this world). It's been mentioned already, but Cafe du Monde is an icon. You HAVE to go there. You'll recognize the place immediately from countless TV shows and movies. The beignets are wonderful and the coffee has chicory in it which is a novelty. It is a must stop, and I don't even like coffee! It's right across the street from the french quarter and the St. Louis cathedral. I like to eat, and when traveling for work I'm doing it on someone else's dime. I tried a variety of things but one of my absolute favorites - and apparently a New Orleans staple - was the shrimp and grits. I had it at a number of places, but recall Drago's was really good. Theirs was "Shrimp with Grits and Tasso" and the sauce is soooo wonderfully rich you'll want to inject it directly into your bloodstream since that's where it's going anyway. As an aside, one of my frequent travel mates never ventures from chain restaurants...really. If you've been in one Applebee's, you've been in them all. It's always more fun to pick weird things because you never know what you might discover. I'm so rarely disappointed. NO has been the ONLY place I've visited where people on the plane ride were eager to share everything you should see and do (and eat!) while you're there. I was never able to make it happen (work, remember) but apparently some of NO's biggest restaurant traditions are the small, intimate places that are literally in someone's home. No advertising, no signs, etc. I wish I had written down the recommendations, but I'm sure your hotel host can help if you're looking for something off the wall and unusual. Clueless is right...eat Oysters! We don't have those here in the Land of Lincoln. Enjoy your trip! Steve

My advice to you is to go on line and find out about all the things to do and see in NOLA, Then pick your top 5 with another 5 as backup. The Holiday Inn, Ed, mentioned is a nice place in a good location for the price. Also NO. has a great trolley and bus system that can get you in walking distance of most anything you want to see, I believe a 3 day pass is around $15.00, well worth it. WWII museum is a must, then it comes down to what you're interested in. I've been going there for 55+ years and still haven't seen everything I want to see, they just keep adding stuff. I see your the same age as me, so the night life in the French Quarter my not be your cup of tea, are what ever your liquid of choice is, but worth experiencing. The French Quarter is still worth seeing in the day time, along with the river front, and the Jackson Square area, all accessible from a trolley or bus. One note, it is still hot and HUMID this time of year, but not unbearable. Now as far as the FOOD goes, if your looking for good food then there is a place on just about every corner, if you looking for great food then that would be on every other corner. If your going to do the river front, and Jackson Square then beignets and coffee at the Cafe Du Monde for a late breakfast, then split a muffuletta from Central Grocery and Deli for a late lunch. Also you need to try some Creole Seafood Gumbo, two of the best are at Galatoires, and Dook Chases in the 7th ward. When it comes to great food NOLA is your oyster, and they have some of the best at the Acme Oyster House. Have a Great Time, Your cruise director.

Glad you told them to get lost! I told a guy he was wasting my time and hung up on him. He called me back and asked me, who do you think you are? I replied more of a problem than you can afford obviously then he hung up on me If I’m asking $2,000 for something don’t offer me $500 cash and say it like a big shot. Geeez people!

I’ve dealt with many creeps in my time when selling stuff. Mostly on old cars and related parts. These type of people just make me feel gross when I encounter them. I don’t have time for that stuff and neither do the people reading this.

Glad to see you got some more time in on the rj. Also I would say leave the engine white if the machine is gonna keep its patina. These are 2 of my suburbans that i had put white engines on.

Ed, that is so sad to hear. As a younger father, watching my 8 year old recently in the hospital for a few days due to kidney issues was a true test of strength and faith. My thoughts and prayers go out to yours and Mark’s family. It’s so hard to see your children suffer, no matter the reason.

Well, thanks to Florence, I finally found a few minutes to work on the rj transmission. After about 2 hrs in the garage I have a working trans again. Check out the machining on the differential and how out of spec it is. Its got new bearings, new bushings, gaskets, and soon new shaft and axle seals. Heaven knows when I'll get back to it again after tomorrow night. I'll update you guys when I do get another chance to work. By the way don't be jealous of my spotless, pristine workspace😂.

My heart is with you Ed! Lost my Dad to it, but they can do so much these days and my Dad did not have a real bad experience with the chemo, hopefully your Son will get through his without getting too sick. His being in good shape is bound to be a good thing! Randy

Thank you all for your prayers and concern. I have no doubt Mark has the physical, mental, and spiritual strength to win this battle. The only reaction to his first chemo treatment has been a lasting hic-cup that kept him awake last night. Here's a picture taken 5 days after the lung surgery. Yes, we had a fishing trip planned and Mark refused to cancel the trip.

I work for an Electronic company, however I am a meter reader. That being said, I have occasion on more than one of these boxes hooked up to a residents house. They have to be receiving the power from the line side {hence prior to the meeting, } so the customer does not get charged for the "lost Eddy currents" as it is only metered kwh's that are billed. The device has to have the 120 v AC transformered into 240 v AC w/ground or neutral, so that this provides an equal 2x 120 v AC feeds. Now it should be obvious that this will draw at least twice the current from the good leg, to provide the same power with the 2 legs. P.S. is the quiz open book?

Sometimes I feel like putting a ridiculously high asking price on things I sell just so the tire kickers that might have some Fun World tickets along with their bag of silver change might be able to talk me back down to what I would have normally asked for it ...

The sad part about here is the talent that got lost through the years through mortality or just plain out of the hobby. Dig around in the basement sometime and you'll see what I mean. Some threads down there that have some really good info...'specially the instructionals. The guys that have been here awhile know what I'm sayin. The good news is we do get some youth in here that add new life. Moral of the story is get your kids into the hobby and here waaayyy better than video games!

Yeah but Bob. It's cash!!! So it's only 25% of the value of the item. Who cares? It's cash!! I like when they call or text about that and they say something like... I'll come over right now and pay you blah blah blah amount of cash. I respond with either -. No you won't. Or... I put... yes that's fine ... if you bring the rest of the money with it. Cash... Cash!! Hahahaha boy it's a good thing they clarify what they want to pay with. I would have had no idea otherwise. Well, I guess so. But I was so hoping to get $1,000 worth of used cotton balls or something.

Jim, Thanks for asking! I am in the NW corner of SC, and we dodged a bullet. Originally, the forecasters predicted 10-15” of rain and winds to 60mph for our area. The storm stayed north of us, and we had gusts to around 40 mph, but the rainfall barely got to 3/4 of an inch. We had minimal damage here. The folks East of us were not so lucky... Danny

Sorry about all of that Ed, for Mark and your family - will keep you and yours in my prayers for remission and bearing up to the chemo....my twin boys are 53 and I know that anything can happen....God is good...
