12 pointsPretty good shape with 521 on the clock. Also came with a nice later model 48” deck. The only real issue is where the seat mount bolts under the shift lever plate. Easy fix with some 11/2” angle. Decent deal for $550 in my part of the world.

10 pointsfigured I would post some other color, took the david bradley suburban out for a spin around the property today. it's a neat tractor one of my favorites for looks but it's constant adjustment to keep it in line. enjoy

10 pointsBuilt a 2" receiver hitch that uses the upper and lower flats on the unidrive and the hitch mount cast into the back of the transaxle.

7 pointsWent to a persons house that was advertising a wheel horse snow plow for sale for $50. He stated it was usable, but rough. I arrived and looked at the plow, He stated I could have the plow for $50, or whole, NON running tractor and deck for $75. It took me about 3 seconds to get my wallet out and give him the money. Hope I did out ok. Its a 1100 Special. Im sure I will be full of questions. I find myself looking at numerous websites, for wheel horse items. Im sure there has to be a cure, but Im not sure on what the number of tractors will be the cure. LOL

6 pointsRacinbob that’s a nice machine you got there. I just bought a 500 yesterday. The owner says he bought it off the original dealer 22 years ago but it appears some things have been changed before he got it. I have a few things to find to make it “right” whatever that is

6 pointsGreat work! My grandfather was a furniture maker and finish carpenter. He made a lot of custom trim and mill work. I’ve got an old plane of his he loved that you might find interesting. It’s a Stanley from the late 1800’s my Pops called it a coffin and boat makers plane. You can adjust the beam to cut around radiuses. When he’d join custom trim that cased curved windows and doors he use it for that a lot making fine adjustments before sanding. It’s got the original japaning and finish just as it was last he used it. I’ll keep it and appreciate it till I’m gone.

5 pointsFound this while visiting the Kentucky Horse Park. No one around to explain. Thought everyone might find it interesting.

5 pointsIn between chores, I managed to get the front axle pivot brackets welded in. Still have clean up to do. Baby steps.

5 pointsI am on the Indiana State Tree Farm committed ( and have been on this committee for ten years) that promotes and educates landowners participating in the growing of hardwood trees. I am working at the Indiana State Fair today. The use , appreciation and growing of quality hardwoods is still a greatly appreciated activity by many people! It is always a pleasure to see quality items made from our American hardwoods! Thanks to Tool Crib for posting this.

5 pointsWell I have good news and bad news... The good news is... There is no known cure. The bad news is... There is no known cure. I think that's a great deal for that tractor!!!
-
4 pointsThe D250 and D200 mated and this is what they produced. must be something askew in their genes, it came out the wrong color. Marv
-
4 pointsThanx! I like to use reclaimed wood or now it's called repurpose. I look for fallen timber and leave a small foot print! My neighbor has 200 acres of woods of some huge trees. Some as large as 4 foot in diameter. Here are couple more pieces. A full size bed frame and a book shelf.
-
4 pointsThanx for the wonderful reviews on my work! I put heart and sole into each piece I build. Here are a couple more pics. One is a hall storage/seat the other is a Morris chair and ottoman made from black walnut and green leather.

4 pointsGotcha all beat.... My 48" side deck has a stainless steel liner in it. Bought this for my Bronco 14 and it started to rust out. At the time, I worked for a tool & die shop and I made a cardboard template of the deck shell. They used that template to custom make a stainless steel liner, then mig welded a 4" front 'apron' for it and it bolted right in. That was in early 80s, still goin' strong...NO RUST.

4 pointsAre you sure you have the right A-frame. There is a dozer A-frame made for a SHORT tractor, and another for a LONG FRAME traftor...they are NOT the same, and neither is the Axle bracket. It should look like this one...axle bracket is shown too. I'm also posting a pic of a SHORT FRAME dozer blade...(not for the 310-8).

4 pointsI understand your problem. Need to nip this in the bud right away. Drop it off at my place or tell me where it is and I will come and get it. That will solve your problem before it gets worse. Marv

4 pointsAfter taking a couple of weeks off I got back to work on the Ranger this week. I've got the block ready to paint, just waiting on a new pan gasket to get here. All the engine tins are painted so I hope to get the engine mounted this week. Once that's done I need to get started on the hood, wiring and final assembly.
-
3 pointsSo I went to pick this B-80 up for parts But Man it is in Nice shape as the one I have ! The Block is Cracked from a broke rod But I am Sure I can fix it. The Main Reason I got it was for the deck as it is like New !! YEHA !! That is the only bad part on my other one. Now I ask you guys. Part it or re-engine it ? I want to swap the deck, seat, head lights onto my other B-80. So Anyone wants a Real Nice roller let me know . OR I will put a 16hp V-Twin on here ? OR I have a Yanmar single Diesel looking for a home ?? Just thought I would post and ask you guys your thoughts ? Thank you up front.

3 pointsI was a full on Cub guy that when I purchased a loader mounted on a WH, I was going to just use the WH till I was done with my retaining wall. Then I was going to move the loader to a 149 then sell the WH. I came to love the WH and now own 5. I still have more cubs and one sears and if I ever found a JD 318 for the right money, I would have some green too!! But alas, I have found a home at Red Square and will always be loyal to the Red!! Randy

3 pointsNo, Eastwood products work for me! I live in a very small town in the mountains of North Carolina and there are no auto finishing supply houses here so I have found Eastwood to be very good about shipping and beats a four hour round trip to pick up supplies. If you have a good supply house I'm sure they will have an equivalent product.
-
3 pointsThanks Eric. You picked up a dandy. Sure, some things have been changed but not near as many as the changes I made to mine. How many 50 year old machines don't have some changes? I like yours as is but it would be cool if you got it back as close to original as possible or made it just the way you want it. Here's a later shot with a couple more things done.

3 pointsI've been in his garage he doe not speak with forked tongue! My life's dream is to tag all the hoods, motors, brackets and horse parts and catalogue them on a spreadsheet and neatly line them up on a shelf. Then I wake up from that dream to stumble out in the shed and see a jumbled mess in milk crates! I'd get some pics but my camera would never work again. Really @RandyLittrell why more rattles of Cub Yellow than Regal Red?!?!? Hope you ain't gonna tell us all the green got used?

3 pointsI have to say that I have never had a 3 point on a tractor before or any attachment for one. This seems pretty cool, but diffidently has to be an easier way to hook it up off the floor. The hard part was hooking up the Lt and Rt hitch pins. I unhooked the sway chains to spread the two lower point arms but still had to slide the mower into them, which is heavy with my bad back! Is there something I'm missing to make this easier? I'm learning this morning how to adjust mower to tractor to use it. I greased everything up I could that moves and turns. Also I don't have the check chains, so how important are they? and how long should they be if I make some up?
-
3 pointsI use the chains as the ground i cut was very rough and uneven with depressions etc. I made up a simple dolly keep it under the front of the mower. 2x6 scraps an some cheap casters. Makes it easy to move around the storage area. Also gets her up high enough to line up with 3 pt. Also lets you move the deck around a bit to get the 3 point arms hooked up. (Skipper move the tract I move the deck 2 different solutions)

3 pointsMy two principal summer mowing tractors get Rotella...everybody else gets the TSC version. Probably no material difference but it makes me feel better.
-
3 pointsYou would not get me under that building on a bet. Please add some ties to the bottom of the posts and cross bracing between the posts in two directions. The way it is now the posts could lay over leaving the building on the ground. Looks like they are already starting to go. Garry

3 pointsIts bad and it never goes away! My wife said one more and I was done!! So I bought another and man is she pissed! So...........Here I am, still checking craigslist!! Randy

3 pointsGood score!I have a bad feeling that the only cure is a dirt nap.Don't leave them together at night cause they reproduce like rabbits.

2 pointsSo... Part of the drive for me to start this topic is that I really like to have things organized. I'm not saying I actually - am - organized. I just really like it when it is that way. I was looking around in each of my two workshops a month or more ago because I was trying to organize my thoughts while putting my honey's 657 together. Poking around the shops and thinking I have one of these, one of those, two of those. Three of this. And all of a sudden I realized... I have enough parts to build a Franken horse in a mid frame with the exception of a hood. So I'm curious Jim. How many tractors could you build if you put all your pieces together?
-
2 pointsAll I wanna do when it comes to Eric and organizing, is imagine a Sanford and Sons scene. Every time I mention cleanup, he asks what for!
-
2 pointsYep the (Wheel Horse’s) Are the most reliable and trustworthy horse’s hooked to the wagon

2 pointsGreat job Trina! Thanks for posting pics Eric! looks and and sounds great, you two. I’m looking forward to your next project build...
-
2 pointsFeel free to keep posting up your pics @The Tool Crib, that stuff is just as pretty as ags ‘n red to me!

2 pointsBoth machines look good. Not like they have been left on in the weather for very long. The shaft that the steering wheel is attached to is located by a collar with a set screw or a spacer and snap ring.If no teeth are missing on the pinion or fan gear then there must be some vertical slop in the steering shaft.Look at the area where the shaft goes through the hood stand around the battery area.If you pull up on the steering wheel and feel much vertical motion that may be the problem. The sheet metal that the upper shaft bushing is located in can be distorted by constantly pulling up on the steering when mounting the tractor. This can cause upward motion in the steering shaft and resulting the skipping.
-
2 pointsTry This. Number the traps 1-20. You take 10 and Trina takes 10. Check them every 2 days at $5 a trap. That's a potential of $50 if the other doesn't set their traps! Used this approach with a friend of mine back when we moved into a mice infested apartment. We had them somewhat under control in no time but we were betting at $10 a trap. Trust me, after you forgot to set them once it'll never happened again! Plus it made it a little more fun to check and set them since there was a bounty involved.

2 pointsOn the bright side, well maybe not so bright, because of the many concerns with ethanol gas, more stations are carrying non ethanol now, at least down here. Most of the marinas down here carry non- ethanol .
