12 pointsHi all, Its taken 1 1/2 years to get to this point. Life happens and we can't spend the time we would like to work on our tractors. I bought this 1077 about 2 years ago and I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. I was lucky to buy a 1277 from a member here that helped the reassembly. That will be next! Again thanks to the great people of this group that has helped along the way to get me back on track when things screw up. Now if I could only come up with a 1967 steering wheel to finish it off. Here she is... Enjoy!!

10 pointsSo my bro asks me to make some mods to some trim for some metal he is putting on his shed so we go down into his barn to get the trim and I see this sitting there.Three years ago I would have never known what it was till @Achto edumacated me but low and behold a Gibson lever steer! I knew this machine was always sitting there but paid no never mind as thought it was just a contraption that the nephew had built out of junk as he was inclined to do. I immediately commenced to dickering on a possible sale and was already told I had permission to haul it to a show for show and tell. Nephew claims he's is the owner but bro otherwise says NO and that 2ND gear is out in GM? transmission from abuse in younger days from hitting rock piles with which all were severly admondished for. Will see what happens and more pics when I do some sucking up and help him with his shed.

10 pointsHere's one of my 60 suburbans and a 1961 701 and 401. None of them were full restorations. But all were tore down to nut and bolt. Mechanically gone through and patina saved.

8 pointsWas offered this gem by a guy who I had just bought a 1277 & 1077 from. Asking the princely sum of 150 ...countered 100 and he accepted. Since I know jack squat about a 953 what am I looking at here @953 nut and othe 953 pros? Was told it runs but wil not go into gear. No probem for a benny I am thinkin? Note the HY and orginal headlights. Due to logistics I may not see it for a bit but previvous dealings with seller went very well. Anyone see something I am ingnorant about?

7 pointsHere are a few of my projects. This is an early 90's 520 sitting in a shed I found an hour or so north of me. Also picked up a 60" deck with this one. These cleaned up nicely. Then I found a 520HC just up the road with a 2 stage blower. These also cleaned up. I have done many, many more but this is all I have good before and after pics for.,
-
7 pointsYou done GOOOOOOOD!!!!!! The headlights look like it is a first generation 953. Do you know what the serial number is? That is a wonderful find and if you want to double your money just say the word!
-
6 pointsFinally had the chance to put the new shoes on one of my 520's. Not looking too bad, first set of new ones I've ever bought. I've always got used ones here and there but thought what the heck lets spring for a set at least once. Lol! $186 including freight I thought was pretty good. I just might go back for more.

6 pointsThe before... and, the after...which was in essence, just a matter of discovering I could remove the layers of bad repaint jobs... to reveal most of the original paint that still survived underneath.

6 pointsBy the grace of God I have survived a few incidents that should have taken my life in the past. Older and wiser I tend to take a long look at things before and during each job. I will include the Ojeda family in my daily devotion.

6 pointsSoon he'll have to trade the Dodge & 14' enclosed in on one of these. Two layers of 's & a nice place to sleep while at shows.

5 pointsA close friend of mine was killed this morning at work. I don't have all the details but know enough to say please take a moment to look at what you are doing and think to yourself, "what if this were to happen or if that happened"? In the blink of an eye, things changed and now he is gone, leaving a wife and young son. Always second guess what you are doing and be aware of the dangers associated with it. Also please pray for the Ojeda family. He was a great guy.

5 pointsEmory's Christmas tractor. He was heartbroken that I didn't have room to bring it to the Big Show this year. Next year it's the first one loaded!
-
5 pointsDefinitely worth it’s weight in parts. That grille setup alone would sell for that much. Too nice to part out though. Would make a cool plow rig like @PeacemakerJack‘s dad has with Clyde. It has that very rare third brake light option too.
-
5 pointsLooks like it's being housed on the wrong property. I don't recognize any of those buildings as being yours. Let me know when your ready to go get it, I'm up for a road trip.

4 pointsThis Family of ducks have taken up residence in our neighborhood. Mamma duck came by the shop a few weeks ago. 10 baby ducks were hatched recently.
-

4 pointsOh Boy!!! Looks like Jim is joining the “Big Wheel Club”. That thing definitely has potential and I’m glad you are able to pick it up for a C-note! I’m with Dan, “when’s the road trip?” I’m digging that Hauler Dan—if I sold my house and property, I might be able to afford the truck!

4 pointsDefinitely looks like there has been a little reengineering done ( like the battery box?, & some of the engine tins) but that would be a great machine to add to the heard. As for the rest it may be hard to tell, the owner of Gibson changed his mind a lot. I see that one has the 16" wheels on the back, some came with 24" rears. The color? well who knows. Gray & red was most common but it kinda depended on what was on sale or what a customer might want. I think that you need to add that to the collection Jim!! Driving around with the tiller steering is a grin. Plus, is that a mold board plow that I see hanging on the back?!?! It would be a lot of fun to run that thing down a furrow.

3 pointsDO NOT POUND ON THE HUB!!!!! If the lug bolts are not able to be removed you probably need more leverage. The key can't be removed first so don't even try. To remove the hub you will need to use a puller.

3 pointsThanks fellas.. Truth be told my first thought was flipping or parts tractor. Will have to see once we get her home. Guy says it's in Sturgeon Bay which is an 8hr round trip ticket for me but seller is going to try and get it a little closer. I'll ask the guy if he happened to get the serial Richard. Where is the tag located on a 953?
-
3 pointsLooks like its missing the black and chrome clutch adjustment decal on pro bracket. Send me a PM with your name and I will mail you one today.
